For all your expert predictions

Hi Everyone,

First post here and I need your help!!!

I have small bets (£1) each race with a mate from work. Each race (once Practice is over) we take it in turns to choose two drivers each and a constructor. So for example, in China I chose Raikonnen and Massa along with Ferrari and he chose Hamilton and Alonso along with Mercedes. Thing is, three races in and he is kicking my bottom 3-0 :banghead: so i'm trying to find out ways in which I can better my chances going forward.

Q: Is there anywhere I can go to read up on the race after practice so I can get the most accurate/ predictions and better my chances of beating him . I have a feeling that he has a source where he is getting his information from but its not the usual places like BBC sport etc.

Any help would be massively appreciated. If I win the season I’ll share my winnings

FIA will have all the timing details. http://www.fia.com/championship/fia-for ... nformation
that's the link for the Chinese GP.
2nd Practice on Friday usually gives quite good idea on the race pace. Usually they first try a few fast quali laps, and at the end 5-10 lap longer stints. If no rain or someone sandbagging on purpose, you get an impression how good the car is for that track. I don't think there's any more accurate data available than that. it's the data analysis and conclusions

Now, then the question, why do I still lose 80% of my F1 bets :banghead: , let's not go there. Actually it is because I choose the riskier high odd ones.

Thanks SS. WIll use that link you sent me next week in Bahrain but it's not really giving me what I was looking for. I was looking more a blog of some guru who knows how to analyse everything and then predicts who he thinks will win etc. Plus, my friend picked Hamilton after P2 last week even though he had only placed 7th. How did he know HAmilton would be more competitive? Maybe he's just very good at all the tyre/track/temperature etc analysis and i'm just not in the know. :(

Some players post their picks in the pools threads, you could have a look at those for some inspiration.

Tbh though, looking at the score pages might put you off that idea.

What are the rules to the bets? Just straight points totals? or do you separate constructors points from drivers points?

Basically this: We take it in turns each week to select. For example, this week I chose Raikonnen then he chose Alonso, I chose Massa then he chose Hamilton. I then chose Ferarri and he chose Mercedes. £1 per driver. He got £1 for Alonso beating Raikonnen and £1 for Hamilton beating Massa. Also, each week we tally our drivers points and constructors so at the end of the season there is £10 for driver champ and £10 for constructor points.

Hope that makes sense!!!

I have to agree, or in general rule for 1 on 1 bets, never pick up the second driver. They can only win if the no1 makes a mistake.
So it's between Alonso, Lewis, Vettel and Hamilton at the moment. Between tracks it varies which team has the advantage.

Or then refer to the betting sites odds, those guys use all the information available, as they lose millions if they can't analyse the risks correctly.

Sooooooooo, using my new technique of utilising the betting companies to pick the favourite drivers and eventually kick my mates bottom in the wagers we have……………….I lost again!

In the order of selection – he chose Vettel, I chose Alonso, he chose Raikonnen, I chose Massa. He came first and second, I came nowhere near!!!!

Gutted!!!!

It was bad luck with Alonso. I'd picked him for the win. Him and Raikonen.
