The buffering was terrible when both ps3 and computer was on wifi.

So many people just leave the standard passwords and ssids on wifi it scares me.

There is programs out there that you can enter the ssid and it decodes the standard password. That is before we even think about using sniffing and decrypting tools.

I would never ever use online banking on a public WIFI system... you might as well throw £20 notes at people

I dont know too much about it to be honest.

But my brother-in-law is a 'network security expert', and teaches it at university. He has fiddled with my bits, so I feel ok about wifi to be honest.

If you're on your computer and using a secure web browser, (2048 bit SSL encryption) going to an a valid CA authenticated HTTPS site you can be anywhere and not worry in the slightest. Now the smut you share on facebook is a different story.

Im jealous with the speeds you guys are getting........I'm subscribed to an internet only plan with my carrier(the sim is in an hspa+ router)....it's unlimited and im paying around $24 a month....i get around 5-7 mbps down and 1 mbps up during off peak times....during peak times, i get 1-3 mbps down and 0.3-0.5 mbps up.....during really congested days, my down speed drops to 0.5 mbps........

It's a 400GB limit on this package, hence the reason for the upgrade, the 32mbps speeds I was getting before was adequate for our needs, we'll never max out our current connection!
