On Monday I found out that Cox Communications have a 250GB cap on my Internet connection despite being told by a rep two weeks earlier that Cox doesn't meter Internet access. Today I call up Cox customer service to upgrade to their ultimate package at a cost of $99.99 per month, only to find out that if I want Ultimate (150Mb down, 20Mb up / 400GB cap) i would have to have a technician out to do a "professional" install at a cost of $35 on top of the $99.99. The trouble is that I a stuck between AT&T and Cox, both operate the same caps so it makes no sense to switch. Suffice to say I am not terribly happy with the situation, but what can I do?

250GB per month? That would be around 8GB per day!!
I wonder whether TW has a similar cap?

My connection is Unlimited* with a fair usage policy, however we've never been slowed down or restricted in any way and we easily consume "unfair" amounts of data but I guess no one else in my area uses the internet like us so we're not hogging the internet in our area too much.

I'm with TalkTalk, but they provide s*** support. I hear I think it's Sky is completely unlimited (can't remember which provider it is so you'll have to double check)

8gb a day is a lot... how much do you use?

All of our entertainment comes via the Internet, we have a PS3, Roku, 3 Laptops, 1 Desktop, 1 iPad2, 1 Android Tablet, 2 Android phones, all of which are used to stream Netflix, Hulu and Pandora etc. And yes from time to time, the wife and I do indulge in X-rated entertainment! (not that you needed to know that little titbit)
