Don't think that article holds much substance The McLaren isn't a dog, but its currently not a podium contender. Which is a problem since a total of 8 cars right now (RB, Merc, Ferrari, Lotus) are fighting for podiums in each race which puts McLaren back at 9th and 10th...with Force India at the same place.

I predict McLaren to do well in Shanghai though. Their car seems to suck on bumps and Shanghai is probably one of the smoothest on the calendar...if they did okay in Msia, I expect the same in China.

Just saw this:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/2 ... um=twitter

NAIL meet HEAD.

"And while his former world champion team-mate Button, 33, is struggling too, with just one points-finish from two races, Watson believes McLaren are losing out because of the Mexican's inexperience. "

I dont think you can blame it on inexperience. Hamilton was on the podium for his first NINE races with McLaren. And that was his rookie year. But he was given a decent car.

I agree Hamilton may have got them a few more points by now - but the fundamental issue is the crapness of the car.

Yeah......but they don't have a proper driver to tell them where the car needs work now.

But I still don't believe the McLaren is as bad as people make it out to be. Just not good enough to challenge the top 4 who are all very close at this stage.

Button wants to sit down and discuss where to go from here

After finishing fourth and third in the opening two races, and then qualifying on pole in the third Grand Prix in Australia, Button has mustered just five points from the last six events.

Button, who received the Hawthorn Memorial Trophy before the race for being last year's best British driver, said: "We are not as strong as we were at the start of the season, and a lot of that is because the top teams have developed and we haven't. That's a fact. We need to get the best out of the car, and we haven't.

"We've just been so unlucky and things have gone wrong. This is the third failure that has taken us out of a race.

"We have to sit down and discuss where we go from here."

Oh hold on that was 2006, things are much better now

You never know, Button might just win this weekend. F1 isn't about who's fastest anymore. :whip:
