One thing I'm now wondering is where would Alonso have finished had his front wing not been damaged? 3rd or would he ahev been mixing it with the Red Bulls? I would have thought he'd have been black flagged by the stewards for loose bodywork and forced to pit rather than Ferrari holding on until the switch to slicks.

I think had Alonso not tapped Vettel at T2, he would have mixing it with the Red Bulls and all this team order rubbish wouldnt have happened.

Vettel was out of order, and had Alonso done a similar thing, those defending Vettel would be outraged!

Yeah, you're all for Rosberg obeying team orders and not racing then you lambast Vettel for doing exactly what you wanted to see - a good bit of close and exciting racing. It's not often we disagree Lew but I see a bit of a double standard here.

The team gave the team orders because of fuel (Mercedes) and tyres (Red Bull) it's an individual sport for sure but it's also more importantly a team sport; Vettel disobeyed strict orders, Rosberg followed his orders like a professional. The orders weren't based upon potential individual championships they were based on getting to the end of the race and not having any mistake, problems or anything go wrong.

Rosberg goes max power and overtakes Hamilton then returns to fuel saving = Wasted fuel especially when Hamilton would of gone max power to overtake Rosberg and then returning to fuel saving again it would of been a massive cat and mouse degrading the tyres and maybe not even getting to the end via a lack of fuel or a crash or an off. Rosberg understands that it's a team game and did what he was meant to do as a member of the team.

Vettel and Webber were both supposed to be coasting home because they were marginal on their tyres, if Webber wanted to he could and would of maxed his power and just went for it he would more than likely of won however he knew better and understood that he just needs to get the car home. Webber did as he was told, Vettel didn't.

The contrasting incidents make Vettel look awful and make Rosberg, Hamilton and Webber all look like real team players.

I wonder what would've happened if Rosberg was given the all-clear to pass Lewis? Hyflex, you correctly mention that RBR are indeed hard on the tyres. Maybe Rosberg could've given chase and pressurised the RBRs even more?

Maybe, but apparently according to Ross both of the Mercedes drivers were fuel saving. If Rosberg had gone in front he wouldn't of got too far ahead of Hamilton because if he was pushing a bit to try and pressure the RB's then he would of had to do more fuel saving suddenly which makes you even slower because you'll have to coast more losing pressures, temperatures and higher chance of going off.

Also, you know what Racing drivers are like look at the Red Bull incident, if Rosberg had passed Hamilton there is no doubt Hamilton would of attempted and actually did re-overtake twice which means more fuel loss meaning they have an even higher chance of not making it to the end.

Just had a look again at some of the best moments of the race. Wow, that was some action with the RBRs.

I'm actually glad Seb ignored team-orders, because he gave us one hell of a fight for the lead!

I'm glad he ignored it too. Redbull are in tension mode now, and I'm hoping for a good old Turkey 2010 again from Redbull sometime this season.

I'm glad he ignored it too. Redbull are in tension mode now, and I'm hoping for a good old Turkey 2010 again from Redbull sometime this season.
