somethings got to change about this "driving at 80%" thing, any advantage one driver has over another is nulified by the fact they cant afford to ever push their tires, webbers comments about it after the race said it all :banghead:

First podium for Mercedes, the uphill trend is a joy to watch!

I'd blame Merc for not fuelling the car up, it was nothing to do with the tyres!

Yes Mercs tyre held up well and they were told to push and take everything out of the tyres.the problem then became fuel conservation. I imagined they'd expected more rain and maybe a safety car, so gambled on a slower less thirsty race.

Precisely. Lewis' pace was all about a team f!ck-up, not Pirelli. Wish people would give the tyres a break.

Well we're talking two different things here. The tyres are a bit of a joke. The Mercs were under fuelled.

But I wouldn't go too far down the team f*** up route if I were you  3rd and 4th was decent result!

Hamilton insists he isn't Mercedes number one

Lewis Hamilton insists he is not the number one driver at Mercedes despite benefitting from team orders in Malaysia.

Nico Rosberg was considerably quicker than his team-mate in the closing stages of the race but was told not to overtake Hamilton by team principal Ross Brawn. Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko said after the race that action would have to be taken against Sebastian Vettel because the team doesn't have a number one driver "like Mercedes", but Hamilton angrily denied the claims.

"That is rubbish, they have a clear one and two, they always have had," Hamilton told the Daily Mirror. "And that is why they have always had the problems they have had. We don't have a one and two here.

"I have always said, from the moment I was speaking to the team, that I wanted equality. They didn't even offer me to be favoured but I just wanted to make the point that I am not a driver that comes and requests that, like a lot of other drivers do. "

With Vettel coming under criticism for his decision to overtake team-mate Mark Webber despite orders not to, Hamilton said he personally wasn't happy to have profited from a Mercedes team order.

"You have to be able to look at yourself in the mirror and know you won fair and square. I don't feel like I won my spot fair and square. Although I did drive a decent race, I don't feel spectacular about it."

Everyone knows it was a pathetic ploy by Marko to divert attention from Redbull anyway. STFU Barko!:thumbdown::thumbdown:

Real shame to be honest. I find myself looking out more for another sport where drivers push the limits of their cars not caring a damn, that's what edge of the seat racing is about. V8 Supercars, or GT anyone? F1 is becoming more of a drama series than racing.

Check this out. Every second is worth it right till the end, trust me. Hardly any mention of 'tyres'.

WOW! That was great .That was RACING! I found myself wanting Magnussen to get past and then that guy put him in the wall :yikes:

f1's losing the plot. Im really exited to see what Mercedes and Lewis can do, but it's all so tame and false. So much lacking. Can't see it improving this year either.

Yeah I hate that Porsche guy. :hehe:

When Lewis himself says it 'wasn't that much fun getting 3rd' in Msia, I don't think it was solely due to the team order issue...its just that the guy feels he's just driving around in circles for the sake of it now.

GT cars :cloud9:

Everyone knows F1 is probably 80% plus about the show now, or at least they should, cause it has been since 1994 when they brought in refuelling simply to make the racing more interesting. Refuelling, having to use both compounds, DRS, Pirelli's, etc etc etc - pretty much every rule change in the last 15 years in fact - all attempts at enhancing the racing, nothing more nothing less! Deal with it or GTFO seriously, cause it's getting so lame seeing people jumping on the bitching about tyres bandwagon like this is something new when in reality it's been the same old story of F1 trying to falsely improve the show for almost 20 years now :whip:
