He really cut through the field today.

It would have been good to see how Hulkenberg got on, i think he would have started on mediums like Sutil did (and this is purely what gave him such a great run).

I always get nervous at even the SLIGHTEST possibility of rain at Sepang.... knowing race control these days....

It's a lot better to postpone the race or start under a safety car than risk a serious accident.

There's a risk of serious accident all the time. A lot of worst accidents of the last 10 years have all come in dry conditions (eg Kubica at Canada, Ralf at Indy). So we might as well start every race under SC by that logic.

The problem is that the wet tyres do not shift enough water or raise the ride height of the car enough (to help avoid aquaplaning). I think if the wets were sorted, this stopping of heavy rain-hit races wouldn't be such a big issue. Another thing that doesn't help is parc ferme, teams can't use real wet setups any more.

.. But it's apparently almost definitely going to rain...

Now that's what I call an each-way bet :)

In a week we are not going to see serious changes by way of new parts to the cars. So, more of the same I believe. Dare I wish for a Felipe win :cloud9:

Actually I would love that! If Lewis or Rosberg can't take it. If it rains and the track' cold again, with no upgrades, it will likely be similar to yesterday. But if the tracks warmer, maybe the order will mix up a bit.

Yeah as long as its not an Alonso/Vettel win, I think it would be a good result. :hehe:

Kimi winning again would be sweet.

He had a good run at Sepang last year until the tyres wore out 5(?) laps too early. Maybe they can now do it better.
If it rains Mercedes looks really strong, but the benefits Merc can gain in wet are likely to be lost behind safety car after a crash or two.

Pirelli should look at developing a Heavy wet or Monsoon tyre, especially for a place like Malaysia where its always going to rain big nearly every time F1 is there, it could stop some of these delays that are happening now days, Of course if it gets very very heavy rain like it did at Canada last year or the year before (can't remember) then fair enough, then red flag the race or session.

Meant to mention it earlier, but I hate the fact that T-BARS now are yellow for one car and BLACK for the other. Where does that :banghead: make sense?

Whats the issue with black?

That at a distance you can't pick it up nearly as easily as you can the neon red. There is trouble identifying Lewis and Nico already with the yellow helmets, the T-BAR makes it even more difficult.

The quickest way for me to tell at the moment is that one has black gloves the other yellow.
