Apparently the the problem is that the drivers wont keep off the slippery white lines and curbs at the edge of the track; my view is if the drivers cant adjust their driving style for the conditions, then they deserve to end up in the wall, as road car drivers we drive differently in differing conditions, why cant these F1 drivers do the same and get on with Q!

Part of the delay excuse was also the amount of debris that needs to be cleared. 3-4 noses at least were left on the track in small pieces. But yeah I don't understand the excuse that these drivers wouldn't know how to drive in different conditions.

Mercs and a bit surprisingly Nico looks really comfortable in wet conditions.

Now it's painted black lines that causes all the chaos... why paint over the white lines with new black paint, surely the older white lines would be better?

Another 20 min delay... this is probably going to spill over into tomorrow!

For the pinnacle of motorsports, this looks pathetic...we have a 1 hour delay between Q1 and Q2 for almost no reason whatsoever.

It's pretty dark now even with the naked eye, behind the visors, with the rain and bad light I wonder if race control have made a complete fool of themselves waiting so long.

F*ck...wasted an hour waiting for nothing...qual is tomorrow.

That was rubbish. So glad I didn't set alarm for that!!

What a great way to rekindle my passion for F1 Racing this season - NOT. I just wasted 4 hours and the TV presenters kept pleading "PLEASE stay with us." So I'm the fool for listening to them.

The good news is I did get some action - a NIIIIIICE car accident happened at the front of my house. The local residents here in Harris Park really are pathetic drivers and for some reason a head-on collision appears to have happened.

Oh dear

What is so annoying about this is that it's not rocket science.

The more cars are out on track and the shorter the delay, the more the water would have been displaced from the racing line and the safer it becomes. On the other hand, the longer a gap, and less cars on track, the more the track floods. In other words, the longer the delay the worse it becomes. Sheer stupidity from the powers that be.

As others have said, even 10 or 15 years ago, in fact even 5 or 6 yeas ago, they would have all been out in this. The tracks are generally safer these days than they were those years ago, and the drivers should adjust their driving to the conditions, not just go flat out then be surprised when they spin off.

There was no reason for that session to not go ahead at the planned time.

Racing cars is an inherently dangerous sport - get over it or get out.
