I started recording races in 1992, got every race from that season on VHS, it's my favourite season to go back and re-watch. :) Other than that, got sporadic races on VHS throughout the 90's. Japan and Adelaide 94 are two races I have gone back and watched at least once a year every year since. Both awesome races! Again, sporadic races recorded through the early 00's until '05 where I've got every race from then on recorded to DVD. :)

One thing I do have is all of the official season review VHS tapes from 1984 - 2002, and DVD's of 2004 and 2007-2012. :) Keep meaning to pick up 03, 05 & 06, as well as the earlier VHS season reviews for 80-83.

Yeah I've got 2002 Season review on VHS and then DVDs of 2007 - 2012. Would be amazing to fill in the gap from 2003 - 2006 :hehe:

VHS? You better get those converted to MPEG quick, how long will you be able to keep a VCR going, do you even have a VCR still? :yikes:

I have a VCR still and it works perfectly. I need 'cos I've got some top films on tape.

As for recording F1, only if the race is on at stupid o'clock in the morning.

DVD's annoy me as I can't pause them for as long as I like. Plus there's just something about a tape that a plastic disc doesn't have.

Have you tried VCD, the convinience of a disc but closer to the quality of VHS. Unfortulately you don't get the wobbly bit at the top of the screen and other tracking issues though.

You're right, it's called fragility and low fidelity.

Now vinyl records, that's a different story.

Why would I? I can barely remember the one my folks had.

Tapes are only fragile if you don't look after them. The only ones I've ever had trouble with are blank ones that I've recorded on over and over again.

Lots of good races that season! Australia, Monaco, Britain, Brazil to name a few... all mega entertaining races in spite of whoever won :P

I much prefer VHS to DVD.

I seem to remember our old VCR unpaused itself after a while. Of course you could just stop it and continue though. Although i just can't see why anyone would rather 'retain' that damn annoying feature of having to always rewind the bugger though, that sucked. Not to mention the inferior quality.
