1:21.534 from Hamilton on unmarked tyres fuelled for 5-7 laps on that run

Edit:Pirelli confirmed that the unmarked tyres are the soft compound

Faster than his illegal pole last year but the tyres are faster this year

1:20.558 on softs 1.3s faster than Perez from last week and 1.3s faster than pole last year

That's actually pretty impressive when you consider there's limited use of DRS. You can't even factor in rubbering in of the track since it rained yesterday.

There's definitely some tongue-wagging down pitlane about the Mercedes AMG and specifically Lewis' time. Clearly the dark horse this season. (Sorry, no pun intended...you know what I mean.)

I'm just saying...

 he's now being tipped for the title. I've just posted this in the Mercedes thread

Jumping the gun a bit maybe. But lovely to see Lewis catching everyone's eye. :D:D:D

Williams have some interested exhaust area parts on the car now, similar to Red Bull and Lotus. All 3 on Renault engines... so there's gotta be a trick engine map going on there that allows these teams to use this type of bodywork.

I thought the same thing, about the engines, interesting to see if Williams and Renault get bump because of it. Last year Red Bull's biggest advantange was being able to get on the power quicker out of medium speed turns. Exactly where a little blown job would come in most handy.

This is an interesting look at how the teams stack up on day three of this test . It's the views of a former McLaren mechanic , Marc Priestly, watching trackside and talking to an Autosport reporter. Another impressed with the Mercedes and thinks they're massively playing down what they have.
He also says Mclaren aren't on top of the new car yet but when they do they'll have more scope to develop than the other cars.

Rosberg did 1:20.130,so it wasn't just Hamilton magic,it's genuine.

Don't forget Lewis did 1:20.8 on medium

Another gearbox issue for Kimi...

2 tenths down on Webber's 2010 pole

Sauber is leading in terms of mileage done (4768km) followed by Merc (4614km).

Alonso just went and did a 1:20.606....and Rosberg then ripped that apart with a 1:20.130. Makes yesterday seem insignificant now. :hehe:

Well done Sauber! I certainly knew Merc had clocked up a heavy amount of miles, but it's nice to see Sauber have a seemingly reliable little mount. Just like a Swiss watch :)

Better a Swiss watch than a Swiss cheese.

From the Ferrari thread:

2) At lunch today, Nico leads with a 1:20.130 from Nando with a 1:20.494, but according to Sky and @Truzonef1 " ...The W04 used Rosberg to DRS in all lines and Alonso F138 only the back straight # F1... " This was also reported for Lewis's time yesterday. I'd guess they are in serious testing mode of their DDRS.
