Yeah. Had the option to go with the 100mbps line rather than the 70, but the price difference didn't seem to be worth it. Only trouble with this is that a few years down the line, 8MB/s downloads will feel slow and I'll be looking for the next best thing...

What the hell? Why are everyone's images showing up WITHOUT the actual figures on now for me, yet the graphic is still there? It was fine yesterday.

What are your best speeds (seeing as i can't see em) Denth?

It's got to be something on their end. Or perhaps they're only kept for a certain amount of time. I can't see them either, but I can see the one I did from my mobile phone.

It's not the size of your pipe; it's how you use it that matters...

What the hell? Why are everyone's images showing up WITHOUT the actual figures on now for me, yet the graphic is still there? It was fine yesterday.

The images seem to be back now; probably a temporary server issue.

Strange that only the numbers disappeared from what is originally a png image.

Gonna run mine again at 2am just to see if i can get nearer Denthul's speed. No idea how his upload capacity is so massive though. Especially on B freaking T which was always completely crap when i had it in the past!

From what I can see; a script creates a dynamic PNG, which is displayed according to an id in a database; if the database is unavailable, then it can only display the background PNG!

Plus that way they only store the database info otherwise the image files would be huge to store.

Seriously, though? I have no idea. I expected it to be a case of getting a decent speed off-peak, but suffering during peak hours, getting throttled on torrents etc. and getting at least one drop-out a month, but honestly it has been bulletproof since it was installed over six months ago. The only time the connection has been down was when I kicked the cable out of the socket.

I hope you guys realise that I have a Virgin Engineer coming to my house now because of this thread. My Broad band speed fluctuates massivly... at the moment with only me using the internet, so no streaming or other people using my 100M feed (allegedly) I am getting



I am sat about 1 meter from the the wireless router (and I have checked the channel is clear) I might try and find a cat 5 cable somewhere to see if it is the pipe or the wifi.
