I think Brawn would be an asset to any team. I hope he doesn't leave Mercedes but I think someone like him is exactly what McLaren need.

Yeah seems like Brawn (and Nick Fry :hitler: ) are going, almost definitely. Shame really cause Brawn's track record is utterly proven, and really, you could very strongly argue that he didn't do anything wrong at all at Mercedes, and that there are many other factors that contribute to their relative lack of success. Although i wasn't always a fan of his i always had ultra respect for him and his sheer knowledge of the sport oozes through whenever you see an interview with him, so i hope he isn't away from the paddock for too long whatever happens.

If you count Eddie Jordan as a sound and reliable source there is something far wrong!

It was not a sound bite, it was just part of the sports news

It's being widely reported.

Indeed. Anyone can say whatever about the guy's personality, but he caught onto the Hamilton story SO early compared to many other outlets and it's not the first time he did something like that, unless my memory deceives me. In that respect he's a pretty useful asset to a broadcasting team.

Many say Eddie is Bernies outlet for leaking true stuff.
If thats the case, (or that he uses tea leaves) it wouldn't matter what anyone feels about EJ, you have to take him seriously when he says things

And talking about Brawn, here is a very enlightening take on the whole Merc v Mac, Button Lewis and big Ron

Very interesting about the McLaren/Cosworth association that makes more business sense than Honda.

Why rebadge a brand that has value? I think as long as it's got a proper Brittish pedigree, McLaren may be very happy.

After all, the Porsche 911 'Singer' has a Cosworth engine in the back!

It would be a massively expensive and risky gamble. Supplying engines to a couple of teams didnt pay off for Cosworth. mclaren, with little expertise in engine tooling would have to turn around Cosworth, and find more teams to supply, at a time when Ferrari and Renault have engines that work well and are also after customer business
Funny how those who are so happy with McLaren being a pure racing team start to realise that only by being a mass producer of cars or engines can one hope to fund an F1 team

Ron is way too smart to create such a rod in his back

surely?

It's definitely a very interesting and exciting prospect for McLaren to buy Cosworth to have a 100% British team; making a third constructor/manufacturer team in F1!

I dunno if rather have a middle eastern royal family with all their oil money over 60% of Daimler funding my team. Mercs not very committed are they!
