If there was any doubt in any Lewis fans' mind that he might have made the wrong move, it should be scrapped IMO. I'm sure given the drivers' hunger, mentality combined with a team which believes in its drivers and has the infrastructure, there is no way but forward. Lewis knows what the McLaren feels like, and Merc has a direction to head towards now. Rosberg has never tasted a winning car and Old Man Schumi was out of commission for 4 years he probably doesn't even know what modern cars on Pirelli should feel like.
The car is no lemon...Lewis has had worse, like 2009. It's already proven very reliable (a wire and a brake issue can't count) and now it's about getting the car up to speed. Fantastic year ahead of us, Lewis fans.
Are you going on and on with this theme because you're trying to convince yourself? I find it funny that a hungry Mercedes-Benz (with so much cash behind them as we are constantly told, though that didnt help Toyota) wanting only 60% ownership of an F1 team. That's only 20% more involvement than with McLaren!
Once you have control/majority shareholding, there is less point to holding more of the stock. Allowing key people to have minority shareholdings is a common method to provide incentive to those small shareholders to be good employees. Its no different to the Bahrain Royal family (owners of McLaren) who left a smaller minority shareholding with Ron.
Which is exactly what people are saying the Toyotas and other manufacturers dont do thats detrimental. The Motor company makes a big injection of cash, owns the company and has full control of the board, brand, everything, yet allows the F1 team to function like a garragista, with the key staff having a true sense of ownership
Besides German corporate landscape is notorious for its cross holdings and interwoven shareholdings.
Its talking crap to suggest that Merc own a smaller percentage than before which makes it less committed or more likely to leave - its the opposite, they have an investment and now incentivise the F1 people and step back from any involvement and tinkering at board level, they appoint 1 link man who also has a real sense of ownership
