They have 6 days of testing if not mistaken? Lewis is back in the car on Friday.

3. Daniel Ricciardo Toro Rosso-Ferrari 1min 19.134secs 41 laps
4. Mark Webber Red Bull-Renault 1min 19.338secs 46 laps
5. Nico Hulkenberg Sauber-Ferrari 1min 19.502secs 40 laps
6. Lewis Hamilton Mercedes-Mercedes 1min 19.519secs 15 laps
7. Sergio Perez McLaren-Mercedes 1min 19.572secs 38 laps
8. Felipe Massa Ferrari-Ferrari 1min 19.914secs 33 laps
9. Giedo van der Caterham-Renault 1min 21.916secs 33 laps
10. Luiz Razia Marussia -Cosworth 1min 25.537secs 31 laps
11. Pastor Maldonado Williams-Renault*1min 27.124secs 7 laps

I think Button did a 1:18:7 yesterday? Considering Lewis did so few laps with 6 of them being installations, this time isn't disastrous I think.

You don't know what fuel or tyres or what the teams were testing, times are pretty irrelevant unless someone is 5 seconds faster then say wow.

I think 2 seconds would be wow-worthy :)

Yup, I've seen myself lowering the standard of my expectations in the past 10 years or so, just based on my constant disappointments with people, which got more and more annoying.

I wasn't wow-ed by Button's time, but that is currently the benchmark at that track.

Anyway you never know about never knowing...I remember back in 2009, everyone were scoffing at Brawn leading all the testing time sheets saying they were desperate for sponsors.

And on the other hand, didnt Mercedes blow everyone away a couple of years ago with their times in testing - and then come the actual races.... nowt!

I don't remember Mercedes impressing constantly during any winter testing they've been involved in. Maybe leading the times on 1 or 2 days at most? Brawn was nearly a second faster than everyone else in the last few days of testing, and everyone were like "yeah yeah, trying to fill their pockets up before real expenses set in".

That they did. 2010 wasn't it?

Im not sure to be honest - I just remember the Mercedes doing well, and everyone saying how the Merc had something special and secret up their sleeve.... and then come Australia, they just had nothing.

And here's a picture of the new front wing which I think they'll be running on Friday

That fat bloke is going to affect straightline speed. Front downforce should be pretty good though.

"There is a new front wing coming on Friday, when Lewis Hamilton will be back in the car, and it's clear from Hamilton's comments on Wednesday that they need it. He admitted the car does not even have as much downforce as last year's McLaren. That might be a wake-up call for Mercedes."

?! Pretty surprising.
