This is horrible news. 230 young people killed in a nightclub fire.
Reading the article it sounds as though all sorts of things contributed. Fireworks and flares going off, fire extinguishers not working, small exits doors or doors not working and poisonous fumes. Also the fire certificate for the club had lapsed.
Very very sad, heart goes out to the families of those young people

I read about this last night; the stupidity of some people amazes me; why would you let off fireworks inside a building, especially a building for over 2,000 people inside. I guess it comes down to safety standards as well; I'd guess that south American countries don't have the same H&S standards as countries like the US and Europe; please correct me if I am wrong!

I'm okay with a lack of intelligence leading to your own death, that's what the Darwin awards are all about. It's a different story when it also leads to the deaths of so many others.

Wasn't Darwins' theory that different characteristics occurred randomly, the ones most suitable for the environment would survive and prosper, rather than active intelligent choices.

But intelligence will save you from doing stupid things.

WB is correct when it causes the deaths of other it is not right.

To be fair the theory is about being 'adaptable' so if there was any one there that was dumb as a rock but had asbestos skin, they would have survived and lived to sire the future of the species.
