Anybody know if we're going to get anything in the States about the test sessions now that NBC Sports has the F1 season?

Dunno, but let us know if you find out.

I really don't think Massa has anything to worry about with De la Rosa hanging around. He's great testing but not as a racer

Rossi is the GOAT.
Villeneuve greatest not to be Champ

I don't think any of the ferrari drivers have anything to worry about. Pedro needs a solid test day in the car after it has had a few days worth of feedback from massa so that he can be much more useful in the simulator. I think putting massa in the car first is good in a sense that ferrari want him to have the first taste, which perhaps shows some trust after his late-season performance last year. Every driver is chomping at the bit to get into the new car, so it must be very satisfying for massa to be the first one in. However, I can completely understand the other viewpoint that ferrari wants their supposed main championship contender to have a taste of a soon-to-be-finished product so that he can be more competitive. I think it's all perspective.

They must not be planning to produce something similar to their real race car until the third test I think, otherwise why ask Massa to drive the first test on his own with Pedro, then give Alonso the second test, who won't really be able to help much with feedback on the evolution of the car between the second and first test.

Susie Wolff, development driver, to be first to test new Williams

Williams development driver Susie Wolff will be the first person to drive the team's 2013 car as part of an expanded role this season.

Scottish-born Wolff joined the team last year after spending seven seasons racing in German touring cars.

Wolff will have an increased programme in the simulator in 2013 as well as more in-car testing time.

The 30-year-old said: "I'm showing that women can play a role at the top level of motorsport."

Wolff joined Williams in April 2012 and is the wife of shareholder and former executive director Toto, who joined rivals Mercedes this month.

She will get behind the wheel of the new car - the FW35 - before the team's race drivers Pastor Maldonado and Valtteri Bottas at an aerodynamics test at Spain's Idiada test circuit next month.

The team will then launch the car at the second pre-season test in Barcelona on 19 February.

Technical director Mike Coughlan added: "Susie has proved herself to be a valuable addition to our driver roster and her feedback during simulator sessions is second to none."

First woman driver at a preseason test in a car for a very long time so that'll attract the press. Her husband may have had a hand in this, although he did offically leave Williams on the 21st of January so maybe not. She is offically the development driver for Williams so perhaps therein lies the answer.

Or maybe Williams just don't trust either of their race drivers not to prang the new car as soon as they leave the pits. :hehe:
