It says they are staying with the team. What I read earlier stated that Telmex were with the driver as well. Given that this is some random persons blog with no sources referenced I wouldn't get too excited.

It really was widely reported at the time that the Telmex money was staying with Sauber.

McLaren may gain by having a higher profile in countries where they don't currently sell cars, but no Telmex money.

Telmex wouldn't have moved anyway while Mclaren still has a contract with Vodafone. However said contract apparently runs out at the end of this year, so we'll see what happens there... If Perez becomes a strong frontrunner then you can be sure that Telmex would want a piece of that exposure.

Absolutely. But i do think that Perez would still be the preferred option for Telmex backing if the opportunity arises at McLaren down the line.
