I really cant see Hamilton challenging for anything next year. If he does I'll be over the moon, but I really cant see it happening.

Both him and Rosberg will do great in the first 4-5 races, just as we saw before from Mercedes... Later in the season they might attack in Valencia or Monaco, and that will probably be it.

Why would that be? Yes the big push will be for 2014 but they won't be upgrading their wind tunnel mid season again, that's done. And they won't be between engineers because they're now in place. They've just increased the F1 budget by 44mil and have Hamilton. Why would all that make no difference?

People hope it wont make a difference...its better to just wait for the season to start and see Merc and Lewis shut these people up themselves.

Ah, stop with the fanboy cr*p... I am saying this because of the previous years Mercedes had in F1. In every year it was the same.

Very rich of you to call anyone else in this forum a 'fanboy' vlad. You're as big as they come.

I refer you to my previous answer, I don't believe it was fanboy crap.

IT is kinda fanboyish when you have Lewis fans proclaiming he will be in the title fight in a team that hasn't proven itself since its inception based on? Blind love and hope for Lewis!
Yet on the same hand dismiss Lewis' old team who happened to win the last race quite easily by a driver y'all love to hate.

But you said it correctly, wait and see but who will be the one to shut up is the the biggest anticipation.

Quite easily because.....of two drivers who were faster than him got tangled up. This sort of thing rarely happens in Formula 1, where the 2nd place takes out himself and 1st place. So I don't think 'easily' is the word, its just the luck of the season.

Hamilton will be as good as the car allows it. Mercedes shines at certain races of the season, but fades away in most of them. That is a well based fact from previous seasons. No one can't deny that. This season could be different, we'll see. But, don't say that some of us didn't warn you.

I didn't say he'd be in the title fight. I said there is no evidence to suggest Mercedes will follow the same pattern in 2013 as they did in 2012 because the factors involved in both years are very different.

Yes, but the end result was similar in every year Mercedes was in.

Would you have predicted Redbull to win 3 consecutive Championships at the end of 2008? I that that was the year they were beaten by their junior team and everyone were thinking they were becoming a joke.

So please stop acting like you're some Nostradamus, Merc has been operating by itself for 3 years, and it doesn't mean they are going to be static in their current position for eternity. Even if you'd like them to be.

So three years. During which time Brawn was putting things in place, they were upgrading the wind tunnel and they didn't have Hamilton.

Junior team had Vettel back then. ;)
Things could change, but I still think it's too early. Radical changes are set for 2014 and I think that's where all Mercedes hopes are.
