I definitely believe Perez will impress in 2013. He's got some serious speed, it might take him a few races to settle down but after that Button will have a new McLarens' exhaust to choke on.

Depends on "what" the chance refers to in 2013. If its winning the WDC, I'd be in the "no chance" camp. If its showing speed from time to time during the season, then I'd say he has a "good chance".

I just think McLaren has swapped a driver with a proven ability to win with a car that may not be the fastest on the grid for a driver showing potential for speed with some poor decision making mixed in.

I wouldn't write off Perez, I think he has potential, but it's largely unproven, a bit of a gamble. Hamilton's speed is a given. And it should be noted that in race conditions the Sauber was second fastest car to the Red Bull.

I think Perez would be very pleased with your comparing him at this early stage to Kimi - if he ended out that good he'd be one heck of a driver. From memory, Kimi won one race in his second season is a very fast McLaren. I'm certainly not putting Perez in Kimi's league at this early stage. Mind you, it did make me smile thinking of Sergio driving for McLaren for a few seasons then coming to Ferrari to actually win a title

Should be ALonso I reckon....after a few years 'training' at McLaren like Kimi did, Ferrari might take Perez to be their next star? But I see Fonso racing for another 5 years yet.

Well, a certain team called Redbull has come in and put an end to all the 'stimulation' of the established teams...it's about who can keep up with this new superteam in Formula 1, and so far Ferrari has been leading the chasing pack.
