Timo Glock says being able to have Pat Symonds at races with Marussia "will definitely help" the team in 2013.
Symonds was banned from Formula One for his role in the Singapore Crashgate scandal at Renault in 2008. However, having been allowed to work as a consultant for teams - a position he took up with Marussia (then Virgin) in early 2011 - Symonds will be able to attend races again from next season.
Having won championships with Benetton and Renault, Symonds brings valuable insight to Marussia which finished 11th in the constructors' championship in 2012 having lost out to Caterham at the final race. Glock said that the team needs to find more performance in every area and is certain having Symonds on hand at grands prix will aid it.
"We know that we have to improve on-track as well," Glock told Autosport. "I think there is a lot of stuff where we need to be better. On the engineering side we need to be better everywhere. It doesn't mean we are bad at the moment, but to move on you need to improve.
"To have Pat at the races will definitely help because he has so much experience, can step back and have a look from the outside, and he's won championships. He can just get into it and we can improve it together. I hope he'll be at as many [races] as possible."
