Bad times, it must be the time of year, I am having the same issues after doing the same job for 16 years. Time to update the CV lol.

What field are you looking into moving into?

Went to school, studied for exams, had an exam, came back home, helped the trending a hashtag thing for Turkish gp,then studied again and now I'm tired and bored.Oh,it was really cold today,I was able to notice that.

I really missed reading news and technical comments here but right now I can't comprehend anything -.- See me next week.

Realised I have invested almost five years pursuing the wrong career path and that there's no way I will ever enjoy this job again.

Hey, its nearly never a waste...unless the field is very specific. Like moving from medicine into law...or medicine into engineering...or engineering into painting....you're not a doctor by any chance?

Take my case, I did my bachelors in mech engineering....after which I did event management for 3 years and during this time I found out what I enjoyed doing in my spare time...which led me to start my msc in finance to move completely into the financial sector and stay there. It's harder to get more 'wasteful' than me, but I learned a lot of things along the way and if I had a chance to go back to pre-uni and choose, I won't mind doing it all over again!

All jobs are :censored: . Just some are less :censored: than others and the rewards are a lot better.

My job's not exactly the best but it pays the bills and it's paying me enough to let me think seriously about a mortgage. Sod it, it's only a job.

Nah, I'm not a doctor. I don't have very steady hands so that would probably see a lot of lawsuits coming my way if I went down the surgical route. Mind you, my handwriting is terrible, so I could just be a GP... :hehe:

I don't believe that to be true. I think it's possible to find something that you would genuinely enjoy doing as a career, I'm just not entirely sure what that thing would be for me (well, other than driving F1 cars... :hehe: ). I'm interested in science, especially anything related to space, and I also enjoy mathematics and chemistry. But I don't really know what kind of career I can build from that.

I'd have loved to have studied engineering but I was told that I would never manage. My Dad managed to get a 1st in engineering through the OU in the mid-90's so he new exactly the sort of stuff I'd be studying and knew that my abilities at maths were nowhere near what I'd need to manage the course.

I've been through university, got a honours degree, got a job through it and am now doing something completely different and arguably below what I should be doing but I'm getting paid more so not all bad. I could join a graduate programme with the company I work for but I prefer to start at the bottom and try and work my way up rather than going in at a slightly elevated level and not spending any time learning the basics.

Just remember you're never too old for a career change.

If you're one of the lucky ones that manage to have their vocation also be their avocation, then it never feels like work!

True but you only get 6 months on the dole here then you're money is cut.

You're doing it wrong. I'll introduce you to some of the families around where I work, they can show you secrets of the trade. :hehe:

Invent a few sprogs, each with a different mother and kid on you've got a gammy leg and you're made in the shade. :hehe:
