Before the year started, I thought Kimi was going to be a disappointment.

I was wrong. He did very well this year, 3rd in the championship is a great result.

Now the question is going to be whether the Lotus will be more or less competitive next year.

The only reason Kimi did as well as he did this year was because of his consistency and keepign his nose clear to finish every race he started. Third came solely due to the disintegration of McLaren.

I think they'll be competetive next year but I fully anticipate McLaren to come in hard, Ferrari say they've got their wind tunnel straight and Mercedes will have a ton of pressue and be applying every new resource to move up the field.

I think 2013 will make this year look mild as far as competitiveness goes. It will still likely be the big three, but I fully expect the field to be much much tighter give the lack of regulation changes and for most teams it being an evolutionary design of primarily this year's car.
