It's a difference in philosophies perhaps? This is what Ferrari says about their drivers, their car. However it's doubly applicable at McLaren, yet the managed to keep a stiff upper lip through it all and lose both championships graciously.

Looking back on the season, Domenicali again said he felt Fernando Alonso deserved the title but admitted Ferrari's car let him down.

"It was an incredible season and I believe Fernando really deserved the title," continued the Scuderia's Team Principal. "I'm not just saying that because he is one of our drivers, because I share that opinion with the great majority of his colleagues and observers. What was missing? A quicker car and a bit of luck, given he pretty much did two races less than his competitors.

In any case, the direct comparions between Lewis and Jenson can now end. Going forward we'll have only speculation as they'll be in different machines. I wonder what the bookies are setting the odds next year that Lewis will bring his Mercedes ahead of one of the McLarens in points next year. Might be worth a looksie.

Back on topic; I believe I said this at the start of this thread; Lewis is the FASTER driver; but Jenson collects similar amount of points throughout the season with his 'cruise and collect' style of driving. Maybe Lewis' driving style is what breaks the car more often than Jenson; I don't believe it's McLaren screwing over Lewis nor do I believe that it's just bad luck. The McLaren seems to be fragile so therefore Lewis' driving style could be a reason why the car breaks more often than Jenson's car. This is just speculation of course, there is no way any of us could possibly know!

Oh man....I can't believe this is being said by myownalias.

Try.........

If this is indeed the case, do you think the engineers/Mclaren might tell Lewis it is his fault...its his driving which broke the fuel pump in Abu Dhabi, and the electronics glitch in Singapore, and the pit crews screwing up, and the fuel regulator not working properly...and its also his fault Hulkenberg crashed into him.

I was just speculating, neither of us really know the truth; it just seems odd that all the failures happened on Lewis' car...

I am sure that we can all agree that over a single lap Lewis is faster. I am sure that we can all agree that the closer to the edge that you push of it's design limits the more likely it is to fail.

There for as Lewis pushes the car more it is more likely to fail.

Singapore was an internal gearbox failure nothing to do with him, mind u jb had the same issue leading to the Japan grid penalty, plus Abu Dhabi was not his fault either,im sure Lewis doesn't overev to kill the car its just McLarens fault.Im still pissed off about this season, plus the stupid chatroom shenanigans
with andrew shouting "YESSSSSSSS" everytime a McLaren pulls off the road, bullpoo considering them saying dont wish bad luck on another driver.........Vettel fans are sods, the only reason I dont like him much is because he wins so often, yes I was a Schumacher fan but made legendary drives to win in a dog of a car(1996) and completing for titles in a slower car(1997)like Alonso this the fact is Alonso was the real champion of 2012,Hamilton would have been with the title contenders only that McLaren f*** everything

I love you too Nin-Chin. Besides, you do the same when Vettel has a failure. Nothing wrong with a bit of competitiveness.

I never enjoy anyone's DNF. On the contrary, I HATE all the technical issues that exclude drivers from the race.

Neither do I Vlad but I ain't going to stop being competitive. I'm surprised anyone takes it seriously though - it's all good clean fun. :hehe:

Competitive? Lol you just latch on to whichever driver is winning frequently, look at your track record...MS, then now Vettel. And when Vettel was DSQ from Abu Dhabi, you wrote off the WDC and proclaimed not watching anymore races this year....top fan indeed. :hehe:

Andrew did say the other day on the forum that no one should hope for a competitor to DNF when we were discussing Alonso's chances at the Championship and that his only likely scenarios would be a DNF from Vettel.

Killing ants in summertime by burning them with a magnifying glass is also good clean fun. Only psychiatrists and secret service agents take stuff like that seriously though.

I'm beginning to understand now.

Whilst I don't wish any misfortune on anyone, I will cheer when the competition suffers. I'm far from the only person that does this.

I've no problem with you living in your own reality, it's just that you spend so much time forcing your reality on the rest of us.

I get your view point, move on. Or post in the Vettel thread more, it's good for you.

If you don't like it don't read it. There are several people whose posts I only rarely read and others whose posts I look forward too. Saves me having to read something I know I won't like.

How could I? You're one of the most prolific posters here, it would be akin to walking into a chicken coop and not stepping on chicken shit.

There wont be any Lewis V Jenson for a few months on this thread, so it will naturally move down the list. Yesterday's post frenzy was interesting and as it turns out, I've been keeping score on the points all wrong according to some. Seems like F1, keeps score differently to all other sports in the universe. :hehe:
