I agree. There is no doubt that Montoya was a good racer, but it takes more than that to be a Formula One champion. You have got to be consistent over the season, physically fit, and tactically astute, i.e. knowing when to take it easy, knowing when to keep you have, and knowing when to go on all-out attack. I had high hopes for him coming to McLaren, but he turned out to be one of the biggest let-downs I can remember.

He doesnt want to be anywhere near an F1 track, it was his choice to quit. He also hated the political correctness and political intrigue and corruption - a wise move in view of last years debacle dont you think.
I used DD's words 'has been' in their literal sense i.e he actually has been a CART champion. Not too many current F1 pilots can say the same.
I know he had his faults (too quick tempered, emotional) but on car control and racing instinct he was the best. He was one of the most exciting to watch.
Fitness. Well he was naturally fit and strong, some men are, so he didnt need to spend hours and hours getting to his peak level like some of the more weedy drivers. Did you ever see him look nackered after a race? No :D

I'd like to see the US race held at Laguna Seca, I love watching the MotoGP at that circuit, my favorite part of the track being the infamous Corkscrew.

I agree, very nice circuit imo.

Hope it goes back to Detroit or the streets of Phoenix.

The problem with pheonix is they struggled to do 190 miles in 2 hours . I would like to see the US grand prix go to Laguna Seca. But losing indy is a shame. I think that the 2005 farce could have been a factor

Sebring would be very close to Indy because they also have some banking to run on and then a very technical infield?

I hear what you say about the length of Phoenix, but it was still a good circuit. If it didn't return there, I would like to see it at Laguna Seca. Class circuit.
