Interesting. Lewis is top in practice so far with his time set on next years tyres(which he said were overheating). On the hard tyres for this weekend he was three tenths slower than his fastest time. He's just again said that these tyres are overheating as well.


Edit. He's now got these tyres within two tenths of the run on next years tyres.

Let's face it, it's the usual difference between 2 McLaren drivers. And yes, it is the best car, race sim times will tell the same story too. It's just as it was in Austin.

Does anyone have the lap times just for the 2012 tyres? I think the final standings were skewed a bit by times being set on both the current and new compounds.

They were all mixing them quite a bit and mixing fuel loads. But later, when both Hamilton and Vettel were on the hards, they were both complaining about tire wear.

In quali trim the Red Bull is better. In race trim, I'd say very very close at Austin.

Well, Red Bull sacrifices race pace to get better qualis, which IMO they shouldn't do here. Mercedes and Ferrari engines are eating them down the straights.
