I wouldn't be surprised if BE comes up with a short-term solution for next year, a one-off in Vegas or somtin' just to show Indy how it could be done with more $$$ for him.

There aren't any major changes in the new Indy design except the first 4 turns(MotoGP).

Motogp was announced a while ago, they were changing the track to suit the bikes taking out turn 13, i think this partly had something to do with Bernies ego as he didnt want to play second fiddle to another motorsport category as F1 would have to use the new track.

So then no F! USA... Does that mean Toyota are going to turn off the lights when they leave F1.

I don't think the F1 guys would drive Phionex, they would just complaint about runoff areas etc. I am sure Monaco would not be allowed for safety reasons if it was not such a big money spinner.

Hope it goes back to Detroit or the streets of Phoenix.

I agree. As much as I think there should be a US Grand Prix, Indianapolis was boring.

Sir Jackie Stewart was talking about that a few years ago. He was talking specifically about insuring the event, but he did that say that if that and other costs got too high, Monaco would go. Ecclestone has already shown that prestige won't save your Grand Prix, even if your facilities are good enough: Silverstone, Spa, Suzuka, Imola, Albert Park to name but a few, they've all had or are going through rows with Ecclestone. It's a complete disgrace.

Formula One is meant to be a global event: It's called a World Championship because drivers and teams from anywhere can enter the sport, and Grands Prix are held in different countries around the world. The sport should be looking to include all the world's major countries (within reason, of course) and Grands Prix from all corners of the globe. Instead, Ecclestone goes wherever he can spin some cash, with no moral restraint: It's a disgrace that we are having Grands Prix in countries such as China. Like the Olympics Committee, Ecclestone is endorsing the country's corruption and manifest human rights abuses for the sake of a few quid.

Go to your next department store or grocery store and check the 'Made in...' labels. Then go through your closet and do the same and then tell me whether you endorse China.

I know, to an extent I and others are hypocritical. The general public, however, cannot choose where their products are made and in most cases cannot select to buy products not made in China. That's one issue, but there's another: a government sponsoring and enforcing gagging orders, a secret police force, dictating careers for people, no freedom of speech etc. Whilst it's sad to see sweatshops (although they are not entirely unfair as $1 is nothing to us, but a lot to the staff in China), that has no bearing on the way the government conducts itself and the country.

Actually all the expense they have put into the Houston CART race would have been more wisely spent toward's a F1 race. Houston is one of the global powerhouse's in the world pertaining to commerce and energy and deserve's a F1 race imho. Pertaining to Dallas we Houstonian's have to pay our respect's because they saved us! You wanna know why Houston has not slipped into the Gulf of Mexico, well it's because Dallas SUCK'S!!! Dallas is the ghetto of major Texas city's believe me  !

Every knowledgeable racing fan know's that CART has become crap and a F1 race would be the ultimate money maker.
