Did the BBC make band of brothers and Rome?

Rome was a co-production between HBO, BBC and RAI, filmed in Italy.

Red dwarf and Blackadder.

I can't believe that I forgot Red Dwarf, I have the first eight series on the shelf, back to earth was pretty poor.

Yeah I didn't really like Back to Earth, though it was good for nostalgia value. I did like the series just finished though! (series X) :)

Canada has a government TV network, but it has commercials. They do get a lot of money from taxpayers, but there isn't a specific TV tax. Probably works out the same dollar wise. Closest I can think of is we used to have a citizen's band license if you want to talk on a CB radio. Not sure if we still do. Britain has comparably high taxes and such, and they provide everything. Does London have the 40,000 cops I heard about? The most extreme example of a country like that is probably a place like Sweden. There's almost nothing you have to pay for there LOL. In the states everything is provided by private enterprise and the taxes are comparably low. OTOH a plce like Brunei has it good on both fronts. NO taxes and free medical and free Medivac helicopter service for all, everything. All funded by the government owned oil interests. Oil also the reason Alberta has no provincial sales tax. But that got muddied by the HST.
