I hate this time of year when the season draws to a close and the days get shorter.
Roll on March!!

Anyway, I'd like to see Alonso snatch the championship at Brazil, but I don't see it happening unless Seb's car blows up. Could happen of course. Look at Webber yesterday.

2012 has been a great season. 2013 has a lot to live up to. :)

Where the hell did 2012 go?!

Before we know it, it'll be December 21st.

Thats not very funny. There are unfortunately naive people out there that believe in that. Hope no one here is spreading pranks around the net regarding it.........

and on the note of the upcoming race. If Vettel wins the title (In which there is a strong chance), I am going to turn off the TV. Can't stand his yelling and screaming and his thank you so much team bluh, bluh and also that stupid finger of his.

Heard it thrown around today in a couple of places. Make the grid penalty for changing a tranny an even number so sly teams can't pull the same sly crap that was pulled today.

Tranny? didn't realise there was a race being held in Bangkok already? ')

The rules were not breached but Ferrari will no doubt capture a whole load of flack because of it; maybe the stewards could have penalised Alonso instead, send him back to the back of the grid; that'd set a precedent that'll stop these sort of antics. I'd be surprised if the FIA don't close that rule off in 2012.

I have the thought that as long as they penalise for the likes of the gearbox, any attempts to prevent teams following Ferrari's lead if the circumstances arise again in the future will be like trying to enforce the 'no team orders'.

There is no way Ferrari should be criticised for what they did but I don't like the fact the rules allow that to be done.

A penalty of an even number of grid slots wouldn't have changed much, Ferrari were focused on what effect it would have on Alonso.

You can rest assured that Vettel will have the alternator of the millennium installed in that Renault engine come Sunday. :hehe:

It's debateable, I think Ferrari were more keen to get Alonso out of the dirty side than they were moving him up one spot on the grid and that would be solved by an even number penalty. It would also not effectively punish/reward other drivers since it would affect everyone down the line.

It was Massa who got the penalty, whether he was moved 5 or 6 places would make no difference to where Alonso moved to.

Exactly, Alonso would have still moved up a place regardless of how many Massa dropped!

You're missing one thing, Alonso had moved to on an even grid slot because Grosjean was penalized, moving everyone behind, moving Alonso one spot and therefore at a disadvantage on the dirty side. Massa's move was to undo the damage done by Grosjean with the added benefit of moving him up another spot.

Regardless of the intent though, it still wreaks havoc onto others, when they get move from the clean side to the dirty side. The difference is not that great in some tracks but here because of the circuit being virgin, dust, oil etc, it was abysmal.
