Vettel clarified in the post-race press conference that he was angry at the back-marker. He was confident that he was keeping Hamilton behind him up until that point.

I couldn't really remember a back-marker in the incident, but it should be investigated, and if it is Karthikeyan, then a ban from Brazil would be sufficient.

Vettel applauded Hamilton in the slow-down lap, they joked around in the conference, and you can tell that he has a lot of respect for Hamilton even though I think Hamilton does not share the same admiration for Vettel in return.... Maybe they will become a lot closer after today's race....

 Maybe for Vettel fans! It'd be a travesty if that happened in my view - jesus, that'd be the most ridiculously unjust, horrendous and harsh penalty ever.

Yeah, why should he get a race ban? I don't think he'd even ignored blue flags. It's the way the cookie crumbles, some you win, some you lose. Back markers are a part of racing and passing them or using them to help overtake is all a part of race craft. Did you hear Hamilton say that as soon as he saw back markers were in the mix he turned his engine right up in case he got an opportunity. It's part of the game.

You mean Karthikeyan? Deliberately hung around? Well why would he do that? His car just doesn't go fast.

No, I'm just saying, as I previously said, he is not for F1. Just compare him with De la Rosa or Pic. Both are being equally lapped, but they don't cause any problems. And, if you remember last race, he stayed on the racing line, even with a malfunction. Seriously? Get him out.

I am being a bit overdramatic, but he has to learn... He has already been penalised at least once, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is more.

The safety car is part of racing and Vettel used that but I didn't hear the end of that last time round....

But you're right, and as I have stated, Hamilton deserved the win. It is part of racing and there is nothing wrong with maximising the potential of your race given the opportunities presented to you. Hamilton did that today. He was the best at extracting the maximum, so he won. The best overtake in history was Hakkinen v. Schumacher going around a backmarker.

However, Karthikeyan should receive heavy punishment as a warning to other drivers like Glock... that this is an unacceptable trait that needs to be ironed out.

What trait, being on the track?

Getting in the way of drivers on the lead lap. When you are last and 2 laps down, you have no rights. You are no part of the race, and should not be impeding drivers and teams who a good enough to actually be on the lead lap racing....

Utterly elitist BS mate.

What a great race. Winners for me:-
Red Bull - wrapping up a 3rd consecutive WCC is a great achievement.
US fans - turned up in their droves and proved there is a market for F1 in Nth America
Tilke's track - he cops a lot of criticism (mostly deserved) but this one is a beaut. Love the elevation changes. Plenty of opportunity for "real" overtaking (and I don't mean the DRS poop we get served up and told how wonderful it is)
Felipe - excellent drive, very fast, watch out for him in Brazil, he could play a significant role there
Lewis - what a great race he drove. I really hope Merc can serve him up a worth car soon after he arrives
Fernando - excellent start and did what he needed to do
Ferrari - excellent tactics to move Nando to the clean side of the track. It paid off immediately and they still have a slim chance of winning the WDC.
Bernie - another hugely successful race, in a country where his scope to expand and make even bigger bucket-loads of cash is enormous.

Losers:-
McLaren - As I've said before, they have the fastest car around now. Lewis can use it and their #1 driver for next year still can't put it on the podium. Their #2 driver has a lot of developing to do to become a #2 in a top line team. They face the prospect next year that, even if they produce the fastest car and run sound tactics and great team work they can expect 4ths and 5ths.
Webber - reliability is still a problem for Red Bull
DRS - I can't imagine anyone that wasn't enthralled by the racing between Lewis and Seb for a huge chunk of the race. Note, for all the laps there was only one overtake. IMO this proves that close racing is what thrills, not meaningless passing like you can see on any expressway.
