Just a quick side note about the attendance for qualifying.

82,710 fans turned up at the Circuit of Americas today. Hopefully, there'll be even more tomorrow! The grandstands and bankings looked pretty vibrant on the TV :)

120k capacity and it's sold out, I'm sure tomorrow is going to be an insane crowd. Take that Inida, and Korea and Abu Dhabi and China and why bother Bahrain. If you're going to hold a GP in a place where the fans don't show up to races, why bother?

Tickets for tomorrow purchased from all 50 states and 40 countries.

Seb still has a significant performance advantage over Mark in quali though, which, when coupled with the latter's customary mediocre starts, is VERY noticeable.

There is no way Webber will match Vettel tomorrow; maybe later in the race he can close up, unless he gets into some run-ins. Vettel is in a different league in that car, i think only guys in another car could get a track-condition swing in their favour to challenge him.

The Ferraris could hope for better since they can do some damage on the straights and uphill climb. On the turns, it is toast.

The Ferrari always seems to come on strong in the race. Mark Webber to fall backwards?

Good observation, and, I put it almost all down to the DDRS cars having such a huge advantage in Q. I know WB commented that he was concerned that the RB was faster than Lewis in Q even with a less than perfect lap, but, I think Lewis has a great chance tomorrow because, in the race, the McLaren won't loose anything but the RB looses the DDRS except on one straight and only if they are following a car.

I still don't think you can count Fernando out, but I think, if the McLaren can perform on both prime and option tires, Lewis is looking in good shape for this race. Assuming his McLaren can do 310Klms :)

So no tickets to DC?

So, you haven't watched any races of SV starting from pole??
LH will lose DRS completely because he won't be within 1 second of SV after a couple laps as usual...

No - actually I have watched that.

Perhaps you missed my point fair maiden :)
I was commenting to WB's postulation that the gap between the RB and the McLaren would possibly be greater than the few tenths that seemingly separated Seb and Lewis during Q. I agreed with Lew and, pointed out that the RB has a very significant advantage in Q (over the McLaren and Ferrari) with their DDRS. I simply pointed out that the RB will loose most of that advantage in the race.

Still, as usual, our speculation will be answered in a few more hours.

I guess I was confused by your statement that in the race, the McLaren won't lose anything - my bad.

Lewis lap

Lewis says after he did a practice launch in p3 and it was a "disaster" :(

I know. He'd be better in third but you know Lewis, he had to go for pole. Anyway you cat sausage around trying to get the exact spot you want, you've just got to go for it.
It's the same for everyone on that side of the grid. Lets hope the FIS have listened and tried to do something about it.

Regarding Alonso, I wouldn't count him out, unless he's taken out.
