Right then it is coming to that time where my phone contract is almost up so it is upgrade time. What do people think is the best phone around at the moment. (I am not part of the Apple ecosystem and have no intention of being, so that narrows it down)

At the moment I am looking at the HTC One, and Samsung Note 2. anyone used them? anyone got another good phone that I should be looking at?

if you can live with the larger screen format, which for someone that's browser heavy is a good thing. the Galaxy Note 2 is pretty damned good. The battery lasts an eternity by Android standards because it's 3100 Mah. I've yet to use the stylus for anyone useful though, so that's a gimmick, but it works well actually when used.

That was my concern with the Note, and I have only ever had Android phones with HTC Sence so not sure how much I will miss that either. What is the Nexus like?

I've been looking at the One (S), too, as my contract is up soon, but the phone is almost two years old now so I'm not sure it would necessarily be the best choice unless they've given it another update recently. The Note 2 is pretty cool, although it depends on the size of your hands really; mine aren't so big so I have issues with them (even the S3 is uncomfortable), but if that's not a problem for you then it's a good phone. :)

I have fat fingers so I need a bigger phone lol

I have a HTC sensation at the moment and that is fine.

I don't get Nexus devices because that's Google's Apple wannabe brand. I dug through my stash and realized that I've also got the HTC One X but I've yet to turn it on since I got it. I agree the HTC sense UI can be kind of cool but I've not played with an ice cream sandwich version of an HTC sense ui.

I think the pull down menu part is that I use the most.

most Android devices have that "feature" now.

Was charging up the HTC One and it's got a sealed battery and you need a tool to remove the SIM if that's an issue. Going the Apple route.

I only take my sim out when I want to check another phone if I am trying to sell it.

I'd recommend the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx if only I could come within touching distance of one....not shipped to Msia, and nowhere in Lausanne either.

I have a couple of 3310's and 5210's for sale if you need a replacement. Might have some with camera's if you want to upgrade :-)

My one has a camera but I don't have a cable seeing as it is an old work phone from a couple jobs ago. They never asked for it back when I got a new one so I thought I'd hold onto it until I was told to hand it in. Saved me forking out for a new phone. I think my one is a 3110.
