Hopefully, the future Lewis V Nico thread will be a fascinating place of discussion.

I'm glad one of us is optimistic about that... :hehe:

People expect Hamilton to easily beat Rosberg but I'll never be convinced till I see it. Rosberg might appear inconsistent at times but maybe he didn't need to raise his game too much with Old Man Michael simply crashing into people and never threatening him in the WDC standings. It will be a completely different test for Rosberg in 2013, a year where he could prove himself to be a real star or just another solid journeyman.

I think that Rosberg will match and push Hamilton; I don't think he has been inconsistent at all; he pretty consistently bring the car home in 6th - 10th places when not being taken out of the race, usually through no fault of his own. Plain and simply, 6th to 10th is where Mercedes are this season, after their win in China, it has been all down hill, like Mercedes stood still while everyone else moved ahead! For Lewis' sake I hope that Mercedes can keep up with the development race next season or we could see Lewis fighting for the minor points next season!

I hope Rosberg does push Lewis because two drivers getting the most out of the car is the best way they can help get Mercedes get up fighting with the best. Then throw in the odd breathtaking drive Lewis can produce and things could be looking good. I think Lewis will have the edge in speed, particularly in quali, but nico is consistent and he knows how Mercedes work, so together their skills should help Mercedes a lot. Both guys are straightforward , what you see is what you get and both are wise enough to realise their best chance of ultimate success is to work together to move the team forward. So there should be no silly games that could wreck the team, both are above that.

Just to add, having a team boss who cares more about performance instead of the physical appearance of his staff should help the team stay focused.

I think Rosberg's qualifying is better than his race pace. I also think that unlike Jenson, Rosberg doesn't have anything that needs to be proven, it's not one WDC going up against another so I don't foresee much in the way of discussion in a Rosberg v. Lewis thread should it sprout up.

By right it should be an even bigger discussion...I'm pretty sure Rosberg's a bigger talent compared to Hamiltons current teammate.

I think NR will step up next year. He will at peak times push or match Lewis, and that will be good for both, and they can compete and have fun building a winning car and racing on track
Im also liking what I hear from Merc more and more, it all makes perfect sense, why the car stopped going forward despite monstering the field the one race they did win early in the season. They were almost a second faster than Lewis' McLaren that weekend. Makes sense that with stable regulations they are looking at next year before they understand the full effects of an aero advantage they have. No one turns up with a legal car that far quicker than the rest by pure accident.

And right now, by far the greatest concentration of top aero guys, outside Ferrari and Red Bull appears to be at Merc

So starts to look like there is something specific that turned lewis' head

In fact I am fairly confident that Merc will beat McLaren as early as next season

For the past 3 years they've had whom many regard as the greatest of all time in Scumacher and look how they've gone. You're overestimating Mercedes and underestimating McLaren as usual, I'm confident you'll have egg on your face next season, and if you have the balls ill put money on it with you!

They will do great on the beginning of the season, but, as usual, they'll fall behind starting from Barcelona.
