I did 130 Mph on an open road Sunday morning. The clock had changed, so there was an extra hour meaning there was no one on the road. It was still dark basically with the sun starting to cause red crescents in the eastern sky while I was driving west.

The car wanted to keep going but I was afraid... that if I got caught, I'd go directly to jail. It was the first time I've ever officially doubled the 65 Mph speed limit.

Speed is addictive and next year I will do it safely on a track.

Dang, really? I feel very rebellious... if i had a Porsche i'd surely have pushed it a couple of (well, several - i won't kid myself) times... although perhaps here it is a little easier to speed on the motorways in the right time and place. I've driven at 140 and been passenger at 170 in cars before over here with no problem. But yeah, always better on a track. Porsches are made for tracks, i don't care what anyone says.

That rebellious nature has a tendency to recede once you have kids of your own. It just does. Like a receding hair line, white pubic hair and joints that pop and creek.

Believe it or not though, I'm having a ball at the auto cross and I've learned a hell of a lot of car control doing 40 or 50 Mph through a slalom that I didn't have before driving a rear engined rear wheel drive car. And more importantly, it's safe.

I voted for Obama today.

Has he won? Or is it too early to tell. I hope he wins.

I hazard a prediction that we won't know today or tomorrow: too many issues like late voting in NJ (until Friday via internet), lawsuits looming for whatever reasons, recounts, etc. We can feel lucky if we get a president confirmed by early December...

You're being pessimistic, as long as Obama reaches a confirmed 270 electoral vote count, nothing else peripherally matters and I think there's more than enough in the gas tank to reach that 270!

BTW Elizabeth Warren is looking like a projected win in Massachusetts!

Yeah, good stuff - senate will stay democratic, though the House with crybaby Boehner will stay republican :irked:

Staying up late to watch the US election results. Pizza en route. Got a stream of CNN on the go, seems they're saying Obama is leading in both Ohio and (just about) Florida - good stuff!
