Well I guess during the race commentators speculate until the car is looked at. It's confirmed as the fuel pump, but that doesn't mean it's, Mercedes fault necessarily, could be several reasons for it.

It's a part manufactured and supplied by Mercedes. McLaren only hook it up to their car, they don't alter it in any way!

Does he not make them as well? I heard he was caught leaving the fuel pump factory with a screw in his pocket. They thought he'd just nicked it from the store but it seems he was meant to fit it on Hamiltons fuel pump.
