Alonso's race pace is usually better than his quali pace. The red bull is still the fastest car but less of a difference I think in the race today. Circumstances make it very very close I think.

I suspect that it will be interesting when Vettel catches Schumacher.

Why?

My guess is that Alonso will overtake Vettel by 1 or 2 points after this race. The final 2 races will be a living hell.

The job was reasonably straight forward - finish ahead of Alonso at each race. Now it's been handed to Alonso on a silver platter.

There are still 3 races to go ? ANYTHING can happen in these 3 races. Grosjean could take Alonso out in the first lap, and we'd be back to the same place we were Friday morning, and Vettel with the upper hand? So I cant see how anything has been handed to anyone...?

Well, looking at the back of the grid, Vettel will have most problems with Kobayashi, Perez, Schumacher and Senna.

Why?

I seem to remember quite a few frontrunning cars stuck behind Mercedes in previous races. Because the Mercedes would not be quick over the whole lap, but had good straight line speed.

And as No-Chin says, MS is very experienced and knows how to defend.

Lotus engineer told me earlier he's banking on Maldo taking out Lewis at start, and Webber's customary poor getaway leaving Kimi leading - Chris Midland

Not think, know. These are Ferrari tracks. OK Austin is an unknown quantity but I feel it will favour ferrari. Interlagos will be a Ferrari win.
