The way I see it, Alonso still has more pressure than Vettel here....he needs to get some serious points which means a podium at least to get any realistic shot at the WDC.

Ah so he can change the ratios. I thought they could be replaced but had to be exactly the same. If that's the case they'd be daft not to do it.

Edit: 5 place drop for the gear box, further 5 place drop to change gear ratios. RB have confirmed that they've changed both.

Only going from memory RC, but for sure they can change GB for the 5 grid positions. The ratios, well, each team has to nominate, at the start of the season 20-something (approx) and that must be done before the first race of the season. Thereafter they have to use ratios from that set. They can change the ratios during an event.

And, there is the start, a lottery even for the absolute best driver. To think that either Nando or Seb don't have pressure is patently silly. They've both carried that pressure for the past few races and through at least 2 WDC's each. They both have positive track records in that regard.

There is still a lot of track to cover before this years WDC is resolved.

Yep, loads of pressure for both of them. But they are big boys and should be able to take it.

If Fernando can score eight more points than Sebestian, that'd get the gap down to the difference between a first and second place. That would definitely be game on again, but the Red Bull is faster than the Ferrari.

My guess is that Alonso will overtake Vettel by 1 or 2 points after this race. The final 2 races will be a living hell.

If this is the case, its clear advantage Vettel...Redbull needs to make sure their cars are fueled properly and the cars finish both races and the WDC is theirs.

The job was reasonably straight forward - finish ahead of Alonso at each race. Now it's been handed to Alonso on a silver platter.

:censored: Renault! :blaster:

Alonso's race pace is usually better than his quali pace. The red bull is still the fastest car but less of a difference I think in the race today. Circumstances make it very very close I think.

The FIA has confirmed that the gearbox, gear ratios and suspension set-up of Vettel's car have been changed. Presumably to aid overtaking

Awesome, we get to see what Vettel is made of now in adversity...for the first time. :D
