And once again Button proves beyond all doubt that he is lame compared to the 'aces' . Even with Lewis behind him at the start due to a poor start (no further comment on that) he is unable to stay ahead of his team mate who once again shows us that he can dominate the weaker driver at will on track without the teams influence (gearbox, strategy, pitstops etc)

Jensons excuse is that he was stuck behind Grosjean, err Lewis was stuck behind you and out drove you with an identical car, why could Jenson not do the same to the near rookie in the slower car?

some joker somewhere mentioned that button got the fastest lap as if that means much (actually maybe it was Butto himself. He forgot to mention that even with a brand new set of tyres he was unable to match Lewis who had tyres with 27 laps on them

next year will be fun to watch, a whole new chapter will be created in the excuses almanac

:scratchchin::scratchchin: The lameness between the two does have a sneaky connection.

I think Button doesn't like Lewis because he can't compete with him on pace. Button isn't that good and he knows it.

He won in 2009 through a freak interpretation of the rules but since then, he's not been in contention for a WDC in the closing races of a season, even when driving the fastest car on the grid.

Tell me then, why Button thinks he should be McLaren's number one driver?

Who cares...it's not like he's got a team which fights for titles every year, just a "we want to win some races every season" team. With him leading them, it will soon turn into a "We aim for podiums every season" team.

There was more to the car than the double-diffuser. If it was just down to that, then how do you explain the comparatively poor performances of Toyota and Williams?

even when driving the fastest car on the grid.

It was not the fastest car throughout the entire season. Brawn GP had little to no budget to develop the car, compared to the other teams around them. Had they not been stung by the loss of Honda's money, then that wouldn't have been a problem (other issues, such as the Honda V8 brick, would have come in to play instead, though).

I imagine you're the type that reads Daily Mail/The Sun stories and headlines and takes them as being 100% fact, all the time...

As a McLaren fan, I'd be a little concerned about the prospects for next year. With the car they showed up to the grid in 2012, and not being able to make much headway, and now losing Lewis to Mercedes there's quite a lot of slack for Button to take up now that it's his team.

I'm sure McLaren have faith in him and his abilities and their abilities to deliver a car next year that was even better than the one in 2012.

Me? I'm going to be enjoying the fight that's sure to come between the silver and the chrome. But something tells me that battle will be the one for the second tier.

On equal footing it's clear that Jeson can't out drive Lewis. Mark can't out drive Sebastian and Felipe can't out drive Fernando.

So team Button consist of a guy Ferrari passed on and a guy that needs a very special set of circumstances to get a good result. Interesting times ahead for McLaren fans, I fear it's going to be a tough couple of years.

I was refering to McLaren when talking about the fastest car on the grid....this season anyway.

Better than being in team "we aim for Q3" or "we aim for points"
