Well, i just read something on Autosport suggesting that Ferrari helped out with Hulkenberg's Sauber move, so they can monitor him a little more closely...

Couldn't they just ask Bianchi to spy on him in the Garage? A couple of pictures of the telemetry, and when he gets in Hulkenberg's cay, he can attach some covert monitoring gadgets, so Ferrari can see how he is driving.

I don't know how close Perez was with Ferrari really, he was in their driver academy, but I didn't see anything about him, say turning up at the factory or anything. I think he was pretty much an independent driver.

He's shown flashes of speed, but not consistency which is why I think Ferrari are prepared to wait a bit.

Perez could be the next best thing or another Sato at this stage. He hasn't exactly killed Kobayashi in the points standings due to his inconsistency. How much of this is down to the car though we don't know.
