would have been hysterical if it made the car quicker. In India Mclaren shows up with some aerodynamic tassels hanging from the front pods because they're good for two tenths a lap.

Oh definately! I think picking up bits of the scenery is the latest loophole to be discovered. All the teams will be doing it in India.

Yeah, well, I was thinking of the sorry state this year. And besides the Renault team doesn't formally exist anymore - how's that for a winning team?

Yeah, well, I was thinking of the sorry state this year. And besides the Renault team doesn't formally exist anymore - how's that for a winning team?

They've been providing the engines which have won the WDC and WCC in the last 2 years and almost surely will this year? McLaren don't even have a department that's labelled 'engine', rather, wasting the best engines in the field with stupid mistakes and crap suspensions.

So much love and respect shown for Lewis' efforts, from racing fans' comments, out and about today -- and so much disgust shown for what's coming from McLaren. Just wanted to say that.

I was working on a longer post. It might see the light of day, it might not. Suffice it to say, I agree with all those who recognize a champions' instinct when they see it. (And yes, that includes Vettel's too ).

I just see Whitmarsh's "praise" of Lewis' drive in Korea as a bit disingenuous. I agree that he drove an amazing race for a point considering he was driving a broken car that was eating rubber faster than Cookie Monster in the NABISCO cookie factory. But to suddenly laud and gush over him to the point of almost proposing marriage during a time when Lewis has had these coincidental back to back suspension "failures" on the back of transmission failures gives me pause. Strikes me as overcompensating...a bit nefarious to he honest. Where was all this man crush when Lewis delivered some phenomenal drives...like Canada and other races? (Going back to some of those interviews, Whitmarsh did praise Lewis but seemingly jumped quickly to Jenson and spent most of the time talking about Jenson still working hard to come to grips with the tyres. Not a pun if it's a fact.)

Martin, Lewis is leaving...just ride out the next few races and call it a season (a wasted one). Lewis is gonna do what Lewis does best...extract every ounce of performance regardless of whether you give him a world-beater of a race car or Grampa Sammy's donkey cart. If you want to play games, Jenson likes games. If Constructors point$ are valuable to you, provide a reliable and quick car...Lewis will get you the trophies and points. But for goodness sakes, pass on the post-race rubbish...please!

McLaren are far too emotional these days, getting worked up about who their favourite is rather than concentrating on winning.

Whitmarsh is far too much of an emotional man to run a team imo. He need to focus on who's the fastest and back them, regardless of how he feels about them personally.

Why can't McLaren try being professional?

Yeah i just read his latest comments. That's some serious gushing of praise there all of a sudden, he must either be high on something or overcompensating as you said. Maybe to curb suspicion of what's going on in the team? Who knows, but it sounds so unnatural. He should just shut up and make sure the suspension holds up properly from now onwards.

Totally agree. Absolute b.s. by Whitmarsh and company.
