There is talk of Malaysia hosting their race at Sepang in 2009 as a night event, Soon Japan and China will have to join in on the night show.....
I think its getting beyond a joke now it will soon be any race around the world that does not coincide with European daylight hours will have to held at night just to please Bernies TV ratings cash bonanza :roll:

If we Aussies have to put up with watching 14 races a year late at night or early in the moring i think The Euro's can heaven forbid cope with 2 or 3 races a year on late/early

Many other sports have events at night. Even NASCAR (yuck!!! )
I dont think it is a big deal. After all, night events tend to be more glamorous

I honestly think that those who are considering a night race should wait until we all see how the Singapore race goes. What we are seeing now is the blind leading the blind because no one know's if the night race will be a success for F1 in general or to Bernie's pocket book.

i've always liked the idea of night races but i think that it should not be just confined to outside Europe. Monte Carlo at night would be interesting to see but i hope we don't go too far on adding variables. We might end up with simulated weather races.

Be next best thing to do after coming in from hard night's clubbing, boozing and trying to pull women. But then you'd forget what happened during the race because of the hangover. :P

I don't have a problem with nightraces, but not too many. It most be a special occasion imo.

I could agree with some night races, like the on planned in Singapore, but I'd hate for GPs like Japan, China and Australia to be night races. Why? Because I love the fact that my entire family will get up at 4am to watch the bloody things together. And because I like being up early, and it gives me a reason... :P

One circuit that should be given the night treatment is Spain's boring Catalunya circuit, it might make it more exciting. Either that or just waterlog the track beforehand.

I agree with you entirely.

I do think it would be a little stupid to have more then one night race (even if the Singapore Grand prix is a success). It would be like having your favourite day of the year, lets say Christmas almost fortnightly... it won't be as special after 3 or 4 Xmas days. Thats why its only once a year, so its something we can get ultra-hyped about and go mental over, and it should be the same with night races. If this years night race is a success then it would be an event we would all place down on our calenders as a must see event, if Bernie goes through with this plan then it would get tiresome after 3 to 4 races.

Snow race, perhaps? :D

I agree that Catalunya can be quite boring, but perhaps a different approach? If the Valencia circuit turns out to be good, maybe alternate between Catalunya and Valencia each year, and move the European GP somewhere else (Portugal, for example)? Or maybe even alternate between Catalunya and Jerez and keep the Euro GP at Valencia?

Scrap Catalunya and keep Valencia.... simple.

Or maybe scrap both of them, host the European grand prix at Donnington (like back in 1993) and tell the racist Spanish 'F1 fans' to jog on.

Out of Jerez and Catalunya I'd choose Jerez permanently. There's a new circuit being built in Portugal, but I want to see Estoril back, even though they've practically killed the first 3 corners.

If they brought the European GP to Britain I'd love to see it being swapped between Donnington and Brands Hatch. :)

Like Catalunya's last corner... what the hell have they done, they took away the best corner on the whole damn circuit.
