Yes, but I don't think anybody in their right mind would replace the Aussie GP with it. It'd be very interesting, though, given the weather conditions in Russia. If it were held towards the end of the season, it'd be a pretty cool (temperature-wise) race, wouldn't it?

I did not feel like repeating myself once again concerning the Aussie GP so I left that part out, check my previous replies.

Back under Gorbachev I visited St. Petersburg in April. The sea was frozen solid up there, beautiful and all, but frigging cold...

Looking forward to F1 cars racing with Bridgestone's spiked tires - night race, schmight race - studs are the future!!! :D
To make it a truly international series, I think the Southern Aussie GP should be replaced with a race in Villa Las Estrellas...

I think the Australian fans and the 'die-hard' F1 supporters would be upset for losing the GP, from a sentimental point of view. To be honest I don't think the masses would give a toss.

I don't understand why people think races need to be in a certain number of countries for it to be a World Championship. Isn't the concept of a World Championship where drivers from any part of the world can take place? What differences will there be in the results if the races were held in 12 countries vs 5?

On the issue of night races, I hope they drop the cars on their asses so we get treated to sparks...

Well, let's take it to the extreme: all races taking place in the USA - would you still consider it a world championship?

Actually they are considered best in Europe, The Fifa Club World Cup is used (at least officially) to determine the best club team from the previous seasons continental champions. It does depend on how it is looked upon to determine the validity of the tournement though.

I was living in Houston when the Rockets won the NBA. The whole town was covered in 'World Champions' banners. Not bad for a national competition.
