Exactly, Raikkonen had no where to go! So what do you expect Raikkonen to do? Stop, get out the car and lay a red carpet down and say (actually it would be more of a mumble) to Alonso "After you dear chap"?

Agree, Alonso pushed Kimi off the track, just like "the other Lotus driver" did to Lewis at Spa. :rolleyes:

Why couldn't Alonso use his mirrors?

This is what is amazing about this forum. The BBC footage is up. The start is about 16m15s into the footage. All the way down the start straight you can see that Alonso is ahead of Kimi, but Kimi just says there, right behind him. There's nobody behind Kimi, so he can fall in behind Alonso at any point down that straight. When Kimi says that "they came over", you can see that Alonso and the other drivers have moved over to take up the racing line, as is their right, some time before the contact. Kimi has loads of time to slot in behind, and there is no way past. It's not a matter of Alonso not using his mirrors, it's a plain and simple case of Kimi being behind, and hitting the car in front.

Bloody hell, this place can be ridiculous sometimes. I'm off for a bit.

May have some whisky somewhere....

You might try watching the actual footage. However, actually checking the facts doesn't seem to be much in evidence around here.

I think we are watching the start of a beautiful relationship. :hehe:

Exactly. Racing incident. And that's why it was treated as such.

I think the fact that it wasnt even investigated by the stewards says it all. Of the 1st lap incidents it was nothing compared to the other 2.

:clap::clap::clap:

Exactly.

This is plain as day. The fact that some people swear black is white really f!cks me off. It's called fanboyism, and there's too much of it around here. Alonso fanboys, Hamilton fanboys, Vettel fanboys.

If everyone reasoned like you, Ferrari man, this would be a much better place. :thumbup:

Some really smart and also some REALLY stupid posts being seen here (fanboyism striking). Didn't you guys watch the Sky analysis? It was a clear bloody race incident! Suzuka is pretty tight track, especially when 3 or 4 cars are lined up.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking this, Sky analysed it pretty damn good. You can't really faulter Davidson, mixed with Brundle and Herbert

Who actually said that it should be investigated. All I said was that it would be unfortunate if Alonso loses the championship by less than 20 points because it would mean that Alonso being punted by Kimi had decided the championship.

Fanboyism is where people say what's what, and don't even check the facts because they're so absolutely sure that they're right.

Checking the facts shows that Kimi was behind Alonso, had seconds to slot in behind once Alonso had taken up the racing line, and didn't.
