It'll be a pity if Alonso loses the championship by less than say 20 points. As it could mean that he lost it due to being punted out by Kimi. But that's racing.

It wasn't Kimi's fault :nono:

Jenson needs to be told "You're the number two driver".

Otherwise it will be the same old scene next year when Perez outqualifies him. Jenson will spit the dummy as usual, as he is so desperate to be number one at McLaren, even though he's not fast enough.

Let's all see how many championships McLaren get by favouring Button over everyone else shall we.

Just saying that doesn't make it true.

Just denying it doesn't make it true. It was just one of those things - s*** happens.

Kimi had to take to the grass, the evidence is very clear that it isn't Kimi's fault. I was on the verge of blaming Alonso, but after viewing the accident a number of times, it's apparent that the field got quite bunched. Once Kimi was on the grass, Alonso tried to pull over, but was squeezed by another car, thus putting him back into Kimi. Complete racing incident, hence why no further action was taken.

I think Alonso himself has performed the correct analysis: http://www.sportinglife.com/formula1/ne ... -raikkonen

Oh dear. Didn't know that has been said. I'd have thought Alonso would've been a little more mature and reasonable than that.

WHY should Kimi have backed out? Maybe Alonso should've done, HE was the one being squeezed, with everything to lose.

If Alonso told me the sky was blue I'd have to either ask for a 2nd opinion or go outside and check.

So what was Raikkonen meant to do? Levitate, vapourise, hope for a passing spaceship to beam him up?

It was a racing incident in field that got bunched.

As a Ferrari/ Alonso fan I couldnt agree more, Perez wasnt too quick in front so Alonso couldnt pull ahead of Kimi, then Button came over to give himself a better line for T1 and squeezed Alonso into Kimi and minor contact happened, sadly it burst Alonso's tyre and he was unable to do a Villenuve/ Schumacher and make it back to the pits on 3 wheels.

Well, he's an experienced racing driver, and you're just another guy on a forum.

Raikkonen claimed that contact was inevitable, and claimed that it was a manoeuvre by Alonso that made it so. But Kimi was behind, and unless Alonso brake-tested him, Kimi had no way past and should have slotted in behind Alonso. The BBC commentators mentioned that Kimi had one wheel off the track, and reacted to that, cutting back on the track and clipping Alonso. And I've seen nothing to suggest that wasn't the case.

We'll see for sure when more footage is up online and the incident can be seen from more angles. But everything I've seen said by those who are properly knowledgeable, apart from Raikkonnen himself, seems to suggest that Raikkonen tried to drive forward when there were cars in the way, resulting in contact. It seems that Raikkonen is attempting to learn how to start races by imitating Grosjean.

That doesn't mean he doesn't have eyes and a brain.

Irrelevant. Aren't we all just another guy or gal on a forum?

Exactly, Raikkonen had no where to go! So what do you expect Raikkonen to do? Stop, get out the car and lay a red carpet down and say (actually it would be more of a mumble) to Alonso "After you dear chap"? :banghead:

Given that the race stewards have a lot more information available to them than us armchair viewers ever will and they've not issued any form of punishment tells me all I need to know. It was a racing incident. End of story.
