I was talking to a guy who said he had a low pressure warning light come on on his car whilst he was in north scotland. He checekd the tyres and he said they looked OK. He drove to Denmark (via his office in London then to Dover for the Ferry.) where he booked the company car in with the low pressure fault for the mechanic to say change the tyre it is flat. He says he did about 1000 miles on a runflat flat tyre. (at normal speeds)

not read you link yet, but I just imagined that because of the harder tyre wall the suspension setup would neet to be changed.

Not just that but the worst place to put weight on a wheel is at the tire since that creates the most rotational force, and run flat tires are considerably heavier. I'm sure there's also a false sense of security as how many people will actually bother to check the tire pressure since it "looks" fine from glancing at it.

I'm pretty damned good about checking my tire pressure and still fall into the trap of just eyeballing the wheel and saying meh, it's fine.

There is a TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor System) inside every tire that does that for ya and reports straight to your dashboard.

My dad has the E92 3 series which comes with runflats and the TPMS, a company car as well. But he says he'd never spend a penny on this system and tyres since he ain't James Bond. I mean when you think about it...tyres which can run at 80km/h while punctured, and crazy expensive and just not that big an advantage if you took care of regular tyres as they're supposed to.

I probably wouldn't shell out the dough for my own car either. It's the company car that has the optional all-wheel drive and stow and go seats, hence because of the all-wheel drive, there's no room for a spare underneath the car (where the front-wheel drive model would have the spare), so they equipped the car with run-flats instead.

I completely redesigned my autism support website today, took about 12 hours from start to finish. Needed a fresh redesign as the old one was very cluttered, lots of information, which was a little overwhelming to the average user, still need to do some bits and pieces of final customisation. Mainly formatting of the generated code from plugins and such.

You're right, not common here stateside but I am fortunate to have one in the county. There Two actually, but one is only about a tenth of a mile away from a police station, so effectively, there's only one.

They're becoming more common. i just drove through two that they're building as we speak, thereby replacing traffic lights.

So my car has been getting poor gas milege and I've noticed the last couple of times I've changed the plugs there's some weepy oil residue and the plugs are just oily, so today I decided to tackle the job. The problem is an old brittle valve cover seal. The worst offender was the seal around the plugs. 40 bucks at the Audi dealer and a couple of hours worth of work and now the engine is tighter than a senior at at all girl catholic high school.

Next repair is a coolant temperature sensor, I was going to do it today but realized I bought the wrong part. Will have to wait until monday.

My Mobile/Cell Phone company says I can upgrade to an iPhone 5 for free, or pay £150 for the HTC ONE XL... Looks like I need to save up a bit
