Oh the new game is awesome. The Austin track is really nice and you can actually play it with the controller.

I have to get used to it anyways and learn the newer tracks...

But so far... great.

I want this:

http://wheelstandpro.com/products/stand ... heels---v2

Then I'll use my wheel.

I built my own version some years ago It makes it much more fun.

Got a pic?

I doubt I could build something that would be so easily set up and neatly folded away as the wheelstand, one of the racing seat setups would be good too but I don't have the space for anything like that.

Yes somewhere, it was built and lived under my stairs in the house. I had a Logitec G25.

The design was simple. (Think of a square slipper) Made out of wood. The Box came back so the top was the mount for the wheel, with one of the monitors in fron of that. I then mounted a buckets seat on the flat wooden part at the back.

If I was going to make a Mk2 I would strut the box section so it would be a bit stronger. I would also support the 2 outside monitors better (however with the advent of cheap flat monitors this would not be too much of an issue)

The new Austin track is a handful. Lots of different types of turns with a couple of straights and hairpins. More or less a mix of Suzuka and Turkey....

Unrealistic in what ways?

I would say its as unrealistic as the other F1 games. Which i would call as realistic as it gets, with today's technology.

It has some improvements over the previous games and additional game modes. Obviously the new tracks, cars, drivers as well.

I like it muuuuuch more than GT5 and gladly paid $57 or so. I'll spend more than that tonight in beers alone, so no big deal.

I guess Some stuff could be better... I havent thought much about what exactly i would improve. Except having access to older tracks for fun.....

Maybe Forza motorsports is more realistic, but that game gets released with much less frequency so i guess they can spend more time refining the simulation engine.

Mainly the handling. I heard you can't easily lock the brakes, etc, even on pad with no aids on. And other little things like tyre wear is only present if you do a 100% race or something. That is pretty stupid.

This is just what i heard anyway. I'm gonna torrent it next week and try it out for myself anyway just to see.

Yeah; not too much brake locks (if you have ABS assist on) but definitely have to be gentle on the accel out of slow turns even with traction control. You can play with the assists, but I havent tweaked much, i think i have most at default. If you have a wheel you can make it harder, but with the controller is very difficult without assists.

Also the effect of the DRS is awesome.
