Well, the problem is that by driving it in a public area, you are being seen and people are going to think "Look at that big pansy, he's just showing off his Ferrari, has it for the sake of having it and knows nothing about the car".
No, they are thinking "Im so f****** jealous of the driver in that F430". But they SAY "Look at that big pansy, he's just showing off his Ferrari.." cause they are so jealous. Regardless I guess I just dont understand why something like that should ever stop you from driving your dream car.
It's a complex issue and I didn't explain it properly. I love the F360 and F430 as cars, for they're the nicest Ferraris in recent years and are sublime works of engineering, but they don't have the same ethos of the older Ferraris, as it were. For me, and I suppose a lot of people, I car is not just about the engineering and numbers, it carries a certain message. Older Ferraris ooze a subtle quality; New Ferraris have more of a
Need for Speed kind of a feel to them thanks to the likes of footballers buying them and this is something that turns me off the car slightly. I would certainly take one if it were offered to me and enjoy driving it, but if I had the money to go out and buy a Ferrari for myself (here's hoping I win Euro Millions or something!) I would get an older Ferrari, for as much as I love the F360 and F430 as works of engineering, I love the slightly older Ferraris that little bit more because of the, older, slightly more subtle styling and ethos of the car. Yes, engineering has progressed, and it will be slightly slower, but it's car made for people who love cars and driving, not for people who casually like cars and want to own one because they can afford it.
By the way, that's not suggest that everybody who owns a F360 or F430 is a pretentious git because to drive them, they would be sensational, but it's a shame that the cars carry a certain reputation thanks to the once spide (chav), now footballer.
