Good post!!
Where do you think it all started going wrong for McLaren?

Thanks, RC. Some may be happy with "Well they finished 2nd in the WCC a couple of times in the last decade" but that's unfortunately not good enough for a team that touts themselves the way they do. I wouldn't be as critical of them s I am if they didn't set our expectations so high each year only to suck the air out of our collective balloon. As to where did things begin to slide, it's hard to pinpoint specifically but the standout in my mind is their preference for starting the seasons out with bad cars and then have to double down to try to catch up. What they are good at is development and have always been able to make big gains but often times they come on so strong so late in the season that it's simply too late for either championship. This year is the first time in a very long time that they started off with a competitive car...but that wasn't good enough. They found ways to mess it up with the pitstop argey bargey and other silliness you would expect from a new backmarker team. They just seem good at tossing opportunities away. It's hard to watch sometimes. I can only hope that Perez has a decent career with the team.

I'm just saying...

Ridiculous isn't it? Hence the stream of garbage I posted in this thread.

Well, that's me done for this evening.

I think if some people actually bothered to spend an equal amount of time analysing the problems present at every other team on the grid too, they'd realise that McLaren aren't so bad after all.

You look at their two main problems this season - pit stops and some odd pace drops at certain races due to setup/tyre problems. The pit stops were teething problems that seem to be solved now (the results are plain to see). The pace anomalies aren't exactly exclusive to McLaren are they? Neither are the reliability problems.

Well i'll leave you with this quote for you to smile upon while trying to get some sleep:
"Layered upon that is Martin Whitmarsh's penchant for his bromances. "

Lol

Obviously Scotty... when someone is paying attention to that ^^ quote up there; they are definitely not going to be able to see what's going on.

Problem is... once so much crap gets written, any kind of effort to bring it back to reason is gonna be tough.

Not sure what you were expecting f1ea. If you want literature, then the library is the place to go. Here, there is indeed crap. Crap you agree with, and crap you disagree with, but only the crap one disagrees with leads to ire and ridicule while we as a collective tend to only point to the other side of the crap pile, as we stand knee deep in it ourselves and if you don't believe me, just smell your knee caps.

There is always the library thank goodness but such tends to be the nature of forums.

There's even crap in literature... Hehe

Anyways... Im not referring to crap here as stuff i disagree with; maybe you got me wrong. I'm referring to crap more as stuff that doesnt even have an agree/disagree thing about them. Seriously, where does one even start with some of the stuff i read here and in the other thread... Wow.

But truly, some people have kept reasonable and honest. First of all, you're all allowed your opinions and likes and dislikes. That crap hasnt been written by you. I maybe not agree with you on some of the things you say and you maybe :loopy: at times; but rest assured, it aint crap. ;)

Calling all that out was a dirty job, but someone had to do it. :)
