Yeah but you were really mean to lewis and you blew it. You didnt make it so fantastic for him because you couldnt see beyond Jenson. Now hes gone . So boo hoo.

Really mean to Lewis?

What do you think this is a school playground?

Paying him millions of dollars, babying him before he was a teenager, molding and shaping him into a solid driver, only to have him leave them for a lower rank team. News flash, they aren't going to let him run the show at Merc either. They give equal treatment to their drivers as well. Don't confuse reliability issues or choices as race setup as favoring one driver over the other.

Schumi and Rubens was as clear as day a 1/2 situtation. McLaren wasn't. You have a self-fulfilling prophecy that McLaren was out to get Lewis sense Jenson.

Fact is, he went to a struggling team, that was showing signs of improvement, has much more reliability issues than McLaren has had since 2010. When you have teams like Sauber chomping at your constructor points, you know you are doing something wrong or not doing enough of something else.

People like you make me laugh. You spout on over the years how Lewis was handed the glory by driving for a top team straight away and now he actually goes to a mid table team he is still wrong, your pathetic.Let's face it,you hate Lewis no matter what, whether it's his skin colour or something else but in your eyes he can do no right. This will be the making of Lewis and i really can't wait to see people like you squirm and eat humble pie.

Why McLaren ever expected he should take a pay cut and sign away the value of other income escapes me. You can go on all you like about toys out of the pram and all that but the bottom line is that he does have the talent that only 3 or 4 in the line up can claim. And this year has been fraught with technical issues that have trashed his chances however well he has performed. Many are ignoring the other talent in this equation. Ross Brawn. A stunning career in F1, Look at his record and his ability to build a team that can win. Time and time again. Look how he did it with Jenson with not very much money As for Michael, surely it's time to either take a technical role or retire. There've been too many high speed back end shunts starting with the one into DC in the wet. He's got plenty dosh and is well admired by many including me. I wish Lewis and Ross all the best. I'm sure the partnership will do the business.

Lewis has paid back Mclaren ten fold, did you expect him to keep paying for the rest of his racing career lol, some people are just thick imo.

Ill support Perez and Lewis as i have supported him throughout his racing career.

Oh I know its not a school playground but Mr. Whitmarsh has to learn the hard way that what goes around comes around.

Babying him? , no evidence of lewis being babied. Molding and shaping him?He was a superb talent they wanted to hold on to, if he'd stopped winning he'd have been out. Mclaren werent out to get Lewis, no. But Whitmarsh bent over backwards to accomodate Button and clearly didnt like Lewis. .
He's not getting number 1 status at mercedes and Im glad about that. But he will be treated fairly and respectfully.
The Mercedes as a team is young, so its likely to have more reliability issues at the moment than McLaren. But the team principal(Brawn's) record of bringing home the silver is immense. he's done it in three different teams. Whitmarsh has none. I kn ow which one Id want to be my team leader when the new regulations come in force.

Happy to see Lewis leave McLaren.

McLaren have their golden boy in Jenson so that's fine. They won't be winning any championships with him any time soon though imo.
Also, well done Perez for getting the empty seat. Just watch out for everyone loving Jenson done there.

Whitmarch thinks Lewis is making a mistake, but Lewis will be advertising Mercs all over the world, as well as driving for a proper works team.

I think Mercedes Benz will do very well with Lewis as the No1. driver (which everyone will think he is, even if the team deny it). :D

I'm still rooting for McLaren, Perez and Button are both excellent drivers. The only real issues they've had is reliability. I do feel it is foolish for Hamiliton to leave though. At least to Merc, I would have said Red Bull.

Ah well, good luck lewis, I hope it works out for you.

Yeah, same. I won't be following Lewis anywhere. McLaren all the way for me.

To be honest, I think the move will benefit most parties. Both McLaren and Lewis Hamilton need a break from each other, their relationship has reached a less than satisfactory state.

Here's a question: will Lewis Hamilton win any races in 2013?

If Merc's current form is anything to go by...................

But we all know we can't make such predictions until Melbourne next year.

Nico won a race this year. Alsonso won a race with the F2012 in Malaysia this year.

Is this a prediction of yes or no? They haven't done well in recent races, but have won a race and had one other podiums. So I can't work out what I'm supposed to fill into the dots.

If he gets lucky somehow or if the top teams dnf... probably in most races he will even struggle to get to Q3, and he'll be fighting for 6th place at his best races :(

My wariness about making a full-on prediction was clarified in the part of my comment which you omitted.

I read it as you making a prediction, but then noting that there is too many unknowns for there to be any real confidence in the prediction.

Yeah, basically, based on Merc's current form at this point of this season, I would say no, but there is honestly no way of predicting. Mercedes could be much better next year. Similarly, they could be even worse!
