There's a lot of things I've read first which you've posted and then never again, since we're not living in Clownland but reality. Only in Clownland will a team sign up one of the most expensive drivers on the grid and then pull the plug a year or two later.

I think andrew is excited. Shoot from the hip first and ask questions later. Sometimes it works, even EJ was right about this whole affair after all.

How am I excited? I'm just sharing a reasonable opinion and end up being trolled as per usual.

:headpat: I see you edited your post after reading mine earlier (again, even though Im on your ignore list) but it still isn't really a worthwhile opinion. If you really believe in it, okay I apologize...good contribution andrew! Let's move on.

I'll stay out of the trolling issue since you and hammer have such a cozy relationship, but if you're going to claim you heard it here first, you should at the very least read the entire thread. :whip:

Well back to Schumacher. I was never a fan. But there were things he was good at and I admire him trying a comeback and sticking at it, and feel a bit sorry for him, but he's a big boy now and I actually think he could be really useful at Mercedes. Lewis is a lot younger than him and wouldnt be in direct competition, so different relationship. He's good with development and he'd be a great mentor to lewis when the vultures start. Things that upset Lewis were water off a ducks back to Schumacher. If he can help him keep in perspective all the crap that gets throwmn at him it could be good. COULD be good, dont know. It would depend on the dynamics between him Nico and Lewis and whether Nico and Lewis wanted him in that capacity. And Nico and Lewis already have two ecellent guys in Brawn and haug. so not sure, but worth considering.

Schumacher will probably retire for the second time, he has expressed his dislike for the fast degrading Pirelli tyres, I can't see him extending his pain dealing with the current F1 rubber. I can see him moving into driver management possibly, I don't see him going into team management, if he did, it would only be in an ambassador type of role.

Autosport reckon that MS isn't finished with F1. But their reasoning for this is behind the paywall.

Could MS replace Perez at Sauber? I don't think there would be much in it for MS. Or Sauber.

Replacing Massa at Ferrari would be one option. But I think he's getting near the end of his career and Ferrari like keeping the same drivers for long periods of time. Unless Ferrari see getting MS back would be a way to shuffle him up into management.

I think the best chance MS has of getting a potentially race winning car would be to go to Lotus, and replace Grosjean. While they haven't won a race this year, Lotus is looking solid.

If Schumacher was set on retirement, it would have been announced with the Lewis deal, surely, Brawn's comments here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/19765967, are that Schumacher was uncertain, but Mercedes didn't wait for him, if Schumacher does decide to go to another team, I think that is a damming assessment of Mercedes, Schumacher would be well placed to know if Mercedes really were going places, in which case he would have made it clear he wanted to say with the team. If he just wants to retire, fair enough, not really anything to do with Mercedes.
