Anyhoo, to something much more cheery. Did everyne in the UK enjoy the wind and rain last night and today? It was fun!

Fun if you weren't driving in it! I drove from Glasgow to Leicester yesterday, and going down the M74 was really hellish. It was getting dark and was raining VERY hard at 6-7pm yesterday, and overtaking Lorries... eep, they create so much bloody spray, sometimes for a second when overtaking them i had literally no visibility at 70-80mph.

You could always slow down and adjust your driving style according to the conditions...

I was generally doing 60 odd mph. But overtaking those things, i felt it was safer to get through the spray quickly. It was one of the more nerve wracking moments i've had i think.

today I came online to have a discussion about one of my favourite sports, and instead read posts from the same people, having the same arguments, which in turn ruins what can sometimes be a fun place to be.

:boxing::handbag::argue:

makes me want to Image

And I realise the irony of this post, in the fact I have been a culprit of this behaviour myself.... but hey, I never claimed not to be a hypocrite.... :hehe:

Not fun at all. I remember taking the coast road to Arbroath in a 4x4 and pretty much having to steer left all the way down then steer right all the way up the coast road the wind was that strong. It's not far but after an hour and a bit of that I was knackered!

But hey, some of us had to work in it! Walking to work was fun - it's not often that I have to lean forwards at an angle of 45 degrees when walking to work. :hehe: Ah well, it gave me a laugh to see an empty drum rolling out the gate and see one of my colleagues go running after it. At least the harbour being closed gave us a quiet day.

Heck, Aberdeen even got a mention of the BBC news!

Ah well, at least it wasn't snowing - yet.

I just spent the last 19 out of the last 26.5 hours on a conference call. :banghead: It's all over now.

Planted some purple irises :)

And friends brought me an Italian designer coffee table for which her brother had shelled out $2.5k  , but they have a baby now and it would bump into the table all the time - plus it has moveable parts, the table that is  . Finally something good comes from a baby - a cool table for free! I love babies, especially when well done with a little mustard

First... you planted purple iris BULBS, not actual irises. :whip:

Second... please can I see the coffee table? Post a pic! Which designer is is like gaudy Italian lacquer from the 80's or it's actually a nice vintage mid century piece? Italian furniture is not my go to, they do have their highlights.

Wrong! I had 6 fully grown irises with roots (actually they're tubers), but it's the whole plant :P

It's modern, European, dark - like me :cloud9:
It would fit perfectly in my dungeon, too - great device with movements in various directions. :whip::twisted::whip:
LH might actually like it as well as he could tell RD to sit on it and swivel

:rofl: That could come in useful during current contract negotiations!

I love iris', have you planted them somewhere a bit damp? They like it like that.
